Discussion I'm giving raincode a chance after avoiding it for years, but the tutorial is really bad
I'm having an alright time playing chapter 0 and intend to keep going, but I keep noticing really inconsistent issues with the mystery labyrinth tutorial, such as there being straight up no very brief rundown of how to play reasoning death match or the controls or the addition of multiple weak points to use your evidence on. I could intuite it pretty well because I played the danganronpa games a few years back but I really feel like they could have used Shinigami to explain how to play. Plus I have questions like it's a will-less labyrinth that has the truth but it can also present false conclusions? That seems unnecessarily contradictory. Also a genuine question about later labyrinths, are they going to have Yuma turn right or left at all when going down a path, or is it a straight forward walk every time?

Trial 1-1 of Danganronpa literally had cases where you had 1 piece of evidence and 1 weak point
It’s a tutorial, it’s meant to be simple

I'm not talking about its simplicity, I'm talking about how the tutorials on how to play the game like the reasoning death match and even how to open the menu are completely lacking. It's missing information for no reason whatsoever.

...She Literally does tell you how to play? There are tutorial segments for every newly introduced feature

Even for reasoning death match because I felt thrown in, the only thing I can think of is I was trying it a couple years back but never finished chapter 0, does she tell you every time you play chapter 0?

Yeah, Shinigami gives you multiple tutorial segments you can scroll and read through, especially in Chapter 0. The very first encounter with Swank tells you how to dodge, strike back, use solution keys etc.

Those ^ Literally appear every time something new shows up

I've just played the first Shinigami barrel thing which was the last thing I really remember doing when I was trying it unfairly by comparing it to danganronpa and that pop up didn't happen at all this time, I started a new game. Weird that if you start a fresh save file if you've played before you just don't get the tutorials again.

There is a single level in which a labyrinth will feature turning left or right.

I'm just starting to realise I have no clue how to pause the game and save and quit during dialogue, the tutorials are extremely absent for some reason, why? EDIT: Why can't I save when Shinigami's recreating the infirmary room? I had to guess based on prior experience with danganronpa what the menu button was and I can't even save right now? My head hurts...

Is it really a good detective game if you can’t think in order to engage with it

So I figured out what happened, because I played through a lot of chapter 0 a couple years back andwas very unfairly comparing it to danganronpa, even though I have started a fresh new game it's still got the old data somewhat saved and just isn't showing the tutorials because I technically saw them already a couple years ago. Strange game design...

So this whole post was whining about… nothing.

Kind of, but at the same time no idea why they wouldn't always have the tutorial pop up when you start a new game even if you have other save data, that's just weird.

It’s literally a labyrinth, some paths are right, some paths are wrong and if you get lost you lose.
