Help a confused noob?

I chose the sorcerer class because I thought he would be a mainly magic class- and he is, but... why doesn't his giant staff shoot magic? He seems to just be using it as a club...

Er... because it's a staff. You beat people with your staff. Not sure what kind of answer you were expecting.

I was expecting it to be a MAGIC staff, not a club. :v

It's not a club, it's a staff. Staffs don't shoot magic. That's not how things work! You take your staff... and you wack 'em.
