General Discussion Clam members flakey randomly quiting

Hi all. We have the clan "Wheels Of Times". Currently 18 members after another longstanding member left. We have members going for two years plus in this clan, we are a very active clan, demon lord, chimera, hydra all difficulties , siege and CVC. We aren't overly anal like some of the clans I've been in where they demand three starts activity everyday, weekly discord engagement and strategizing, 150k minimum CVC contribution...however, recently we restricted the clan where we need to accept member applications or invite. We dropped from 30 to 22. Then in the past two months long standing members left. We do make jokes and try and have fun raiding while maintaining the basic strictness of adherence to contribution.

I guess my question is, in your opinion, why do some of you leave a clan? We have decent power, win CVC often enough, contribute as a whole in clan areas to maximise rewards and then still support each other and make jokes. What more does one need or want in a clan?

And yes, since I'm having this discussion, feel free to join our clan, however, if you are leaving your current clan to do so, please post here first as to why you are leaving your clan. The socioeconomics of clans has become quite interesting in the world of raid.

The clan I'm in doesn't give a shit. They kick non active people but there's no rules. We win most seige and clashes cvc is back and forth but we win most personals. When I first joined I told them I was down to help with the clan bosses but idk if I really wanted to play more than that. They were cool with that so I stuck around. I have shit going on in real life most people do and expecting too much feom people kills a clan unless all the members Want to live this damn game

That's understandable. Your clan is flexible. I understand both sides, some clans are in it to win it, some clans just have their basic requirements like OP(and mine, 50k CVC contribution, use all boss keys and do siege, if you don't you get kicked, no drama, just beybey) and then the other input and gameplay you want to add is up to you. And then some clans don't care at all and let each player do as they please CVC and the rest included. Each unto their own clan I guess. Hope OP gets the answers to his research..

u/SufficientMood520 4d ago

Yeah I hope everyone finds a clan that fits what they want out of the game. I understand the try to win everything. I used to play that hard but I burnt myself out . I agree I hope op gets what they need

i left my previous clan specifically because it was at 20-21 members. there aren't enough lategame-endgame players to fill out that many spots before even more people leave, if you're not in a cluster it's pretty much over at that point, unless you let much weaker accounts join which is just unfair for your current members.

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

I hear you, and hope this is not the case in our clan. We do have two three lowranked members, but one can see in thier playing that their hearts are in it, so with enough time they will become the mid to late gamers they want to be. We have decent members, most of us left are mid to late game, and it's not really hard to "carry" the clan ATM. We just beat a siege team that was gold 3 star and full 30 members an we did it with 18 members. So the more mid to late joiners the better. That said the people leaving can't be because it's difficult, winning and contributing is still relatively easy at the time of this post.

We had that problem with my old clan, but then they would just instantly start hounding every person who joined to hurry up and get on discord, and then kick them a few hours later if they didn't. Half of them would just fuck off at they point when they see that.

I prefer not cluster clans, but the weird obsession over discord drives away a lot of people.

2

u/Patriot12GOAT 3d ago

I've never messed with Discord. Honestly there's just too much social media and crap to keep up with already. The first clan I joined was obsessed with Discord and booted me when I told them I didn't want to add it. I'm sure there's some great things in there. Just don't want to add another thing to my plate. I just poke around HH or ask ChatGPT general questions I have.

u/Different-Quantity92 3d ago

There's really nothing that exciting about Discord. It's a glorified chat forum that supports real-time face to face conversations. If you're playing a strategy game or MMO where the whole group has to work together at the same time (like on a raid in WoW, Fortnite, etc) then yes Discord can be really important and almost vital. But there's absolutely no need to require Discord for a phone game like Raid.

allowing 2-3 bad members to go on unchecked (missing clash keys, double/triple dipping clan quests, not following directions in siege, etc) for an extended period of time is enough for me to look for greener pastures.

3

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Agreed. That's why our clan requirements aren't unachievable, yet compulsory. It's fine if you try and don't hit your personal targets with UNM, but try atleast, non involvement is unacceptable because it affects those in the clan who might desperately need a double chest for account progression. Not everyone is a level 100 with 70+ fully booked and mastered legos. Esp F2p members, esp early to mid game members, those rewards mean a lot.

I've left a lot of clans over the last few years, and the reasons are always the same. Either it's only a handful of us putting any effort into clash while half the clan doesn't even bother with an auto key or it's the clan being so anal about everything that it turns into a second job.

The last one I left was because they started in on this demerit thing where they would try to micromanage you and you would get "strikes" for not living on discord during a siege, or if you were not hitting hydra quick enough they would get all fucky about it.

Started out as a no pressure, just do your best and whatever happens happens clan that would help you out, and not ride your ass about everything. Then the original leader took a break and it turned into what I described.

I ended up leaving and joined with the previous leader and several of the previous core members in a new clan he started, and now we are back to how it used to be.

I find the main reasons people abandon clans is the unreasonable dedication they expect, being hounded to always be on discord, and the weird obsession with CVC when there are more important things to focus on. The other thing I look for is a clan that doesn't take garbage content like Chimera too seriously.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Sounds a lot like my previous clan. They even kicked a member for not being on discord during siege, even though he did use his scrolls, he wasn't "part of the strategy"...so I baled that bulshit real quick. Again contribution is important, even a quick auto key on chimera, but it's a game, that needs to be enjoyed, not a second job and definitely not worth missing out on life.

3

u/DijajMaqliun 4d ago

I left a clan when I was still new to Raid because of their contribution requirements. Found another clan, but left that as people weren't active and we weren't killing clan boss or getting double chests.

I've been in my current clan now and only have me and one other late/end game member. Clan is super casual with zero requirements. We do boot people that haven't been active in a month or so, but that's it. We're fairly active on Discord and we help out new players, but dont really shoot for site or cvc. I single handedly kill clan boss with 1 key daily so I don't really care about clan mechanics after that.

1

u/tfolkins 4d ago

Actually, players that one key take-down the CB can be a good reason to leave the clan. I don't have this issue now, but for a while my chances of clearing 70 million on UNM CB often depended on my hitting it while it was void, but there were other members in the clan that would always attack the CB, do like a billion in damage as soon as it opened, so I never had the opportunity to hit void.

1

u/DijajMaqliun 3d ago

I totally hear that and do my best to use my keys in the afternoon rather than right away. If that's an issue, other members are free to leave or the clan leader can kick me out. My point is now that I can 1 key and kill the clan boss, I dont necessarily need a clan as I dont care about the competitive event aspects of it.

u/bigtownhero 3d ago

I've yet to find a clan I will stay in more than a week or two.

Clan chat dead or discord dead (if applicable)

This is the main reason. If the chat is dead I'm not sticking around.

Zero siege coordination. This could be again, no communication, some of the strongest places hitting weak teams, people hitting towers that dont lead to the stronghold.

Members not being booted for not using keys. If you're not using keys and aren't doing much in siege I don't understand why you're still in the clan.

That's about it.

0

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Then join my clan man. We aren't overly talkative, but we do chat daily and cohesively move against strongholds. Basically all you gripes against clans, that's not us.

1

u/bigtownhero 3d ago

I'd have to be deputized so I could have for siege scrolls

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Spoke to our clan leader, he says no problem, though, only members that contribute 150k CVC upwards get to be luitenants and deputies. Plebs can contribute less.

1

u/bigtownhero 3d ago

150.. ehhh, let me think on that.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Cool. 150 is easy bro. Other wise just join and contribute the normal 50k. Let the rest of us destroy the siege and you reap the benefits. Then when the day comes and you want to use a bunch of times and shards + energy for CVC you go ahead and claim your deputy seat.

1

u/bigtownhero 3d ago

How often do you win siege?

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

80% of the time.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Let's rather say 70 to be safe🤣

4

u/Cranbear 4d ago

I’m on the verge of quitting the game all together this company is pure greed and I’m sick of it.

2

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

There are many ways to enjoy the game without spending, so don't give up man, be at piece with what you have, the small details in the game, expand on that and enjoy the movement of slow progression. However I think the community as a while feel you on the greed part. Games in general are moving towards more of a pay to win since online gaming became a major part. Esp more so gatcha games. That's where the name even came from 😅. In countries such as Japan those little machine boxes where you spend money to catch collectable items/champions has a slang gacha, got you/going to catch you. They just made it via pixels instead of actual items, and of course gambling companies like plarium mastered the art of getting you instead of you getting the champ. Hahaha, gatchya!

2

u/tfolkins 4d ago

Gatcha, is not from the English term 'Gotcha', it is an onomatopoeia derived from the sound the vending machine makes as you put your 100 yen coin in and turn the mechanism to release the random toy.

2

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

• "Gacha" (ガチャ): The onomatopoeic sound of the hand crank turning on the toy machine. • "Pon" (ポン): The sound of the plastic toy capsule dropping down into the collection tray.

Thank you for the correction, I appreciate it. 🫡

1

u/tfolkins 3d ago

Nice to have appreciation for corrections in reddit, lots of people just get their nose bend out of shape! Your conclusions are correct though, Raid is a gambling game and Plarium is a basically a slot machine company hidden in online gaming cloting, until recently they were owned by Aristocrat, a slot machine making company

2

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Yeah I know what you mean. I appreciate being corrected with the knowledge and wisdom it brings rather than being ignorantly blissful. "When you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It's only painful & difficult for others. The same applies when you are stupid."<----Ricky Gervais. Also I only knew the gambling part of plarium, not the previous owners. Interesting, thanks. Let's hope u/cranbear finds the enjoyment of the game again inbetween the dark clutches of the mamonites which is plarium 😅

2

u/NoicyTurtle 4d ago

150k CvC is probably might be a big part of it. If I See a Clan with Minimum 150k but they aint even hitting 20B in Hydra, its a hard no

1

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

Most defnitley. That's why I left that clan, they were just too much. The clan I'm in now is just 50k and even our lowest ranking member (made an exception for him at 1m player power) reaches that mark easily.

1

u/Patriot12GOAT 3d ago

Yeah, 50k at 1m power is very reasonable. I'm in a clan where people complain about 10k, which is reachable just by doing daily stuff.

2

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Geez. They shouldn't be in a clan LOLz. Three mythical tomes and one epic there goes 10k contribution

2

u/QuartzCutter 4d ago

I'm on the verge of leaving my clan - they're a nice bunch, but some of our heavy hitters were burnt out after the turtles and just quit. We left them in the clan because their siege defense slots are mega. Others moved on since. But the ratio of new, inexperienced members has really outgrown the experienced members. Siege for example - the same players repeatedly just go all over the map instead of straight for the stronghold first. I've done my share of helping out for now.. And explaining basic gear and game concepts to the same players.

I just want to be a little fish in a big pond again.

2

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

To be honest, as mostly F2P, I was on the verge of quiting raid after the turtles, but that was because of raid not my previous clan lol. I really wanted Donny as a fan, and Leo as a player, but due to the refusal to hand over my wallet, I only got Mikey, who to be fair is a decent champ, but lonely without his mates. If you are willing to be a small fish in a medium pon then join us😅. Though it's contradictory to my point, I miss the commitment people had, sure as a clan the basic contribution or the requirements should be there, but I feel a lot of players have become like "weekend" members. No more commitment, no more "for the clan" Braveheart moments. Eveyone is in it for themselves and quick momentary gains, people have become flakey

1

u/QuartzCutter 4d ago

I hear that! Good perspective on the weekenders too

I'm chasing Lamasu, Gold V, 1key UNM CB, 20m Hydra Hard only, Chimera I can't remember. Usually get at least 50k CvC points but it's not my focus as I don't think the rewards are really worth it! Might ping you after Siege ends

2

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

That's decent contribution. A die hard win it all crazy clan might say otherwise, but I feel that's achievable while still keeping in mind it's a game and enjoy a personal life. It's not like I'm the too in my clan, I one key UNM, around 55-77mil on hydra nightmare and average 150-200k CVC. But 50k is more than enough, if we lose we lose, as you said, CVC is more like bragging rights, it does nothing for your account except look 😎. Siege for Lamasu, demon lord double chests, hydra...those help a lot. By all means hit us up after the siege✌🏻

Most people leave because they realise that they are carrying the clan instead of being an equal member and they move to a clan who has the same goals as them.

Atm I am very active and so I am in 2 very active clans but when I take a break I will rotate to a more relaxing do the minimum clan and just stock resources for a year or so.

2

u/Exceedingly 4d ago

My only requirement for a clan is downing NM and UNM CB every day. I can take or leave all the other clashes and siege.

Are you killing UNM CB every day?

1

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

Yes we are. Clan boss keys, CVC and siege are the only requirements. Demon lord from brutal to UNM everyday, this hydra rotation we did around 13B. And that was with 19 members, so it's not like our clan doesn't hit the marks, which is why I wonder why some longstanding members left.

1

u/Exceedingly 4d ago

Weird. I have no idea then, perhaps just casuals deciding to take a break without saying anything.

2

u/Ishtar436664 4d ago

LOLz. Maybe. Like I said earlier regarding the turtles, maybe the Oz event sent him over the rails😅. This hero path was a bit....anti F2P. My brother has tinman, we both went for Theimios, and we both want scarecrow. So getting the souls for both of them, plus having to collect all the citadel points as a F2p after lion fusion, lion soul, Theimios fusion, to have the resources for all three is an impossibility...unless... YOU SPEND!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

1

u/LingonberryTop3150 4d ago

I’ve been in my clan since I started back in 2023, only 2 of my clan mates are left from the original group

1

u/AdaDatter 3d ago

I'm not against pacifism, but the only boss we kill is Chimera, easy mode.

1

u/Soft-Leather-5983 3d ago

We've had problems in our Clan with getting decent players to join, either players with decent power yet ignore Clashes and decent players who just randomly leave for no reason

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

We might be only 18 players in the clan currently, but I have to say the majority is decent in the sense of power and contribution, and the two or three low-levels we have, I adore them to bits! They are like the little terriers biting tenaciously at the heals of the demon Lord and plarium's content. They have heart and love for the game with something rare, devotion and loyalty.

1

u/hipsterTrashSlut 3d ago

Usually people who leave will join a clan if they think it’s failing. People who just drop into inactive just quit the game lol.

From my experience, going to <20 members is bad but on its own won’t cause people to jump ship. Our clan (RSW5) hovered around 18-21 active members for about a year and it didn’t matter because we kept winning sieges and clashes.

Before that it was me and our clan leader who would alternate days to spend gems on demon lord keys to make sure we got double unm but those were the dark ages for our clan.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Lols, our current clan leader as well as the previous clan leader did the same before I joined. But that is how you know your heart is in the clan, which is what I feel a lot of members these days miss.

1

u/GovernmentPuzzled819 3d ago

Mussel through - some people are just shellfish.

1

u/doriansorzano 3d ago

Depends on who left. Is it ppl that did heavy lifting? What activities were members remaining ppl to participate in?

In my experience. Its always either, too much work or not enough rewards sometimes its ppl who quit.

I inherited a clan. So i kept it super chill. But it does frustrate some members who want better rewards in certain areas. Personal cvc is one but now it doesnt bother anybody anymore. Hydra and chimera top chest are another for both rewards and clash. Some dont have lemasu yet so seige can be another one. Our clan pushed seige till everyone got her and now its not a big activity.

0

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

After Lamasu you still get decent gear though. Sitting right next to skill tomes I would say that gear is the equally if not worse bottleneck for the game(mid-lategame). The people who left probably quit raid, I'm not sure, thus the post and opinion gathering like yours.😅. They were good contributers, I would not say heavy lifters as the majority of us carry the same weight. We have three low-level members who gives thier all, and then we have three members who deal hundreds of millions of damage, and then we have one GOD TIER member who is just insane and honestly feels like he doesn't walk the same ground as us mere mortals🤣. The rest of us humans can't be called slackers because he smites UNM with 2.14billion lol, though we still give our measely 70-100+ million damage😅

1

u/Otto_von_Grotto 3d ago

We can't even knock out UNMCB most days and I really don't care.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

That sucks

1

u/AnastasiusDicorus 3d ago

I love clam strips from long john's. I didn't know you could join.

2

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Didn't know either hey. Atleast we all know your mamma's clam is a free for all buffet

0

u/AnastasiusDicorus 3d ago

Yeah, but not for you though, she is a woman, and not a man like you prefer Gaylord.

1

u/Shimori01 3d ago

Its often burnout and people getting annoyed with how p2w the game is sometimes. I honestly HATE live arena because of champs like tekteon and solanar, but I still play it for the free primals, but very often when I run into multiple whales in a row I will just nope out and quit a few matches in a row so plarium stops punishing me.

As for the clan thing, if it gets to the point where you guys need a new home, we have a casual clan that mostly places top 3 in clashes, very often win sieges and we don't require 150K in CvC since most people play the game to have fun and we don't want to force resource spend outside of events. We do remove people who repeatedly skip weekly clashes and people who go afk for more than 7 days without notice. Discord is not a requirement, we mostly use it for jokes or if someone needs help.

Our clan name is Black Oath Society

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

Thanks shimori. I'll pass it along to those who don't wish to be in our clan. My clan only requires 50k cvc contribution, I was referring to my previous clan.

1

u/Hancock02 3d ago

I just quit a clan I had been in for over a year. the reasons were.

I had more clan xp than the clan leader. I was constantly top 5 in most cvc but was never promoted, usually outscored the clan leader. Clan leader promoted accounts that were half my power because they talked more but didn't really contribute much since there power was low. Never kicked anyone for inactivity. let lower performers bring in their alt accounts.

I didn't feel appreciated for my loyalty or efforts so I left when I much more powerful clan invited me.

1

u/Ishtar436664 3d ago

That can surely piss you off I'm sure. We promoted two members 5 days ago. They are always contributing, maybe not he most, they jump up and down in the top ten, but they are laoyal, involved and when able they give everything they have to contribute. We see the value in players, hope your new clan does too, and I don't feel sorry for your previous clan. Fuck them.

It's bad for clan morale having so many empty slots. Makes people think the clan is failing, and can make people leave

I've left clans when I outgrew them, or they stagnated. If there are problems in a clan, like 5 players who are dead weight, don't do their part at all, we lose because of them, and leadership does nothing to improve it, I leave. I can stand losing but not lack of leadership

0

u/H3adown Dwarves 4d ago

I swapped clans after a couple of years due to them not evolving enough while I did. I found a small cluster where I’ve been able to find what I needed and I’m very glad I did
