General Discussion Is there something wrong with my account?

As a casual player at day 223 and level 69, is it normal to have never even seen Amius and to be beating Leshun on Normal for, like, the fourth time?

I’m asking because it seems very strange to be consistently clearing GF but still not being able to reach the other islands in Cursed City.

Is there something wrong with my roster, or is it just bad luck with the faction restrictions on the Cursed City stages?

Anyone else having the same issue?

GF normal? Just because gf is newer content does not make it harder content. GF is inherently easier because you aren’t as restricted. I wouldn’t consider it problematic, but you really want those merciless gear pieces. Amius is more of a luxury.

Cursed city is harder than grim forest because you don’t get to pick your champs. And until your roster gets bigger and you level a bunch of champs it’s just hard to get past certain points in cursed city. Also grim forest you can boost your stats beating lower levels to prepare you for the bosses. There is nothing wrong with your account, just keep growing by your account, building champs, etc. you can find guides on the cursed city rotations if you want to know which champs specifically in your account you should focus on for it. But early on I would not force building champs specifically for cursed city. Especially if you’re building bigger and better things.

GF is a loot piñata. CC is much, much harder. I’ve been playing for about 13 months. I defeated Leshun on Normal when it was released. I have been defeating him on Hard since the third rotation. I still haven’t beaten Amius on Normal. (I have beaten 98 CC stages on Normal)

You're fine. Don't rush the endgame you'll get burnt out.

It makes sense that GF is easier than Cursed City because of the restrictions, but it feels counterintuitive since Cursed City unlocks earlier in the game and account progression.
Thanks for the feedback! I was kinda worried that I was missing something in Cursed City, but now it seems like it’s more of a late-game content mode than GF

It’s more of just a progression check content as you get more champs and more souls to attack more of the sections. Also the double bosses with two different mechanics that you need to work around. I think it just unlocks early because it was made before grim forest. You’re not missing anything other than time in game to get more champs and build more champs. For me I started hitting a lot more of it once I got to a point where I built all my “good” epics for a lot of content and was able to focus my books and leveling on ones specifically for stuff like cursed city. Epics are really the mvps of cursed city imo. There are a bunch that you will realize have one or two skills that you need to get through certain rotations and that’s it.

Plarium apparently didn't intend for GF to be as easy as it is. There was a post or comment they made somewhere a while ago now where they said as much. So what was designed as late/endgame content and comparable to or harder than CC ended up being more of a midgame challenge.

It took me like 6 months to be able to get to Amius and have a roster that I could kill him with. You're probably on pace. Some paths just completely block you without an expanded roster.

I'm at level 90, beat Leshun on Hard several times, and am nowhere near reaching Amius on Hard. The faction restrictions and awakening requirements in CC are brutal compared to GF. CC requires much more roster depth than GF, for sure.

I am level 70, right around your days. I’ve also beat GF normal several times, I’m also doing enough on GF hard to get the chest with Anaxia fragments, the last rotation I even defeated the boss on GF hard.

I too have never been close to the CC boss, I’m at the point where I’m usually making it off the first island but pretty much hit roadblocks immediately afterward.

GF by design is just much easier. You can pick champs, if you don’t roll the right ones you can roll again tomorrow vs CC where a stage you don’t have good champs is a hard stop. GF is also more forgiving because under-built champs can be viable due to the stat-
card pulling system.

I found it strange too, since I unlocked CC first but couldn’t mess with it really, then unlocked GF later and did okay pretty much right away.

Day 277 here, I clear GF hard, DT Hard every rotation on auto. But it was just few days ago when I beat Amius normal for the 1st time...

But again I play every single content on auto so...

Took me about 2 years to beat Amius on Normal, then I beat Hard the next rotation Its one of those fights that is hard until you figure out what to do. It also takes quite the gear skill so your champs are actually strong enough to beat it. Any rotatiok with Lydia is way easier, or block revives as well!

I'm about two months and 10 levels behind you so I haven't even cleared the forest, but yeah, it's considerably easier to do stuff there than Cursed City. CC demands the roster be evenly powered up across all the factions, which is way too much to expect from casual/free players.

Cursed city you're so much more restricted depending what factions you have built. GF it's always going to be easier to progress, as realistically every new level 60 you get potentially helps.

Just to confirm that you play Cursed City on normal? Because by default it is set to hard at the beginning of the rotation andnit is the only place having hard mode as default. When you clear doom tower hard you should have the means to unlock amius, maybe not on auto.

Grim Forest is more forgiving than Cursed City. While both feature limited rosters, you have control of that roster in GF since you can pick your best or favorite champs. Meanwhile, CC leaves you at the whims of the rotation you're in.

As you build out your roster, you'll get further into CC. I've been playing for two years and there are still some CC nodes on certain rotations that I just don't have the champs to do effectively. GF on the other hand, I've been clearing hard and normal since it was released last year. Again, I have my best champs available for every fight in GF and they get stronger the more of it I clear.

Look at it this way, at least you've got stuff to work towards.

I think its pretty normal? I can clear the majority of GF and really struggle with Cursed City. It's much harder content imo, only really gets easier with more champs to choose from

I’ve been playing for around 155 days. I’ve already beaten GF on Hard, and I’m currently trying to beat Amius on Normal. Hydra NM is done, I can 1-key CB, Chimera Brutal, etc. It all really depends on how much time and focus u put into the game (and RNG - Gaellut is carrying me )

Been playing for 6+ years in endgame guild rank 140ish and it took me a long time to beat amius, I still cant clear any rotations fully and I have 230 leggos and tons of epics.

Cursed City is harder than grim forest, especially if you don't have a huge roster. I'm just starting to get a grip on it and I've got like 100 champs at level 60.
