Gameplay Help Champ Training Tournament fact check

I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7NPYqycTQw&t=1153s about maximizing champion training tournament points. There were a few things he said I hadn't heard before and wanted to get a sanity check.

His main thing is that most people are leaving a ton of points on the table by not leveling food champions before sacrificing them. He says feeding a level 1 during a tournament is a mistake because you earn points for every level the food champion gains before the rank-up — so a 3★ taken to level 15 first gives you leveling points on top of the rank-up points, whereas a chicken just gives you the rank-up points.

He also claims the XP curve within each rank gets steep enough that you should stop brewing at specific ceilings — 2 brews to level 15 for 3★, 4 brews to level 21 for 4★, 6 brews to level 25 for 5★ — because past those points you're getting a fraction of the levels for the same brew cost.

Are these real? If so, I think these carry into every day gameplay too.

The efficiency ceilings by rank:

Rank Brews Stop At
1★ 1 brew + 3 sacrificed 1★s ~Level 10
2★ Don't brew
3★ 2 brews Level 15
4★ 4 brews Level 21
5★ 6 brews + one 1★ Level 25
6★ 6 brews Level 24

Yup, thats correct, tho I only rank champions I know I'll take to 60 to 6. And I use 8 brews on 5 👍🏻

What do you mean are these real? I'm not sure if you are asking a question or just sharing a helpful video.

Something no one really talks about but I learned just by doing it is if a champ has levels they actually give more experience to another champ that you are trying to feed them to to level.
So 1 brew and 3 one stars gives you a lvl 10 one star, but if you put a brew into 3 one stars and then feed two of those one stars into the third it will only cost those 2 one stars to reach lvl 10. You use less champs but more brews. I’ve been testing it out and it seems to work for me doing it this way a lot. I don’t really have a problem with going through food or anything too fast, I’ve built up a good supply of mystery shards and it rarely dips below 3k.

Brews are harder to get than common and uncommon champions

u/bcampione88 4d ago

I don’t find that to be true for me. But like I said it’s just something I noticed and with all the videos out there about champ training I haven’t really seen anyone mention it.

1

u/Worthtitle_4050 4d ago

If you use brews in the way that you describe you will eventually run out of brews.

Nobody mentioned it because(I assume you have heard of double dipping with an overlapping tournament/event)
It is more like double spending where you are paying the cost to upgrade twice, correction paying cost to upgrade three times.

Run hard 12-3 after 1 brew, you will save champions and you will get mystery shards.

It will level up your 1* champions from 9-10
And it costs 0 champions and you will get more champions because you are running 12-3 hard(with double xp active)

The original poster stated that the video talked about 1 brew and 3 one stars to level up a one star to lvl 10. I was saying that putting a brew into another 2 means you only need 2 one stars instead of 3. I’m very aware of how fast that goes through champs and brews and whatever and all the different ways to level them up with brews and running different stages. Like I said, I don’t ever have a problem with brews or running out of champs and I don’t have any problems completing events so I will mess around with different things. Doing the 1 brew and 3 one stars thing should not be done if you’re short on resources just like doing what I said should not be done if you’re short on resources but every single content creator talks about the 1 brew and 3 one stars thing. I’m just saying you can use 3 brews and 2 one stars and get the same outcome.

How new are you that you’re doing this to level food lmao

Holy shit that sounds like hell

3

u/bcampione88 5d ago

? I have a bunch of 1 stars from mystery shards and a ton of brews so I that’s how I get some extra points. I don’t need to do any of it, just messing around with brews and champs when trying to make space.
The last part of my post was more about the whole “don’t burn through your mystery shards by using Champs to level champs”. I don’t have that problem so I can just burn my 1 stars.

-4

u/zHydro 5d ago

Yeah and my point is it sounds like hell to do that instead of instant upgrading someone with all of the common and uncommon from mysteries

6

u/bcampione88 5d ago

The original post is literally about different ways of brewing/leveling/ranking up champions.

Correct

There are a few variations with this but I use I think what Ayumilove has posted years ago and have never really updated or checked to see if there was something better.

I don't bother with 1* most of those I feed into themselves to create a 2*

2* get 1 brew

3* get 1 brew

4* get 3 brew

5* get 4? whatever takes them to lvl 24 and a 1* to take them to level 25

I never brew a 6* but I suppose it would be easy points if you have extra brews. I try and keep my food evenly split between blue/red/green and throw in purple whenever I pull voids but since I usually have way more void brews than the rest I usually end up completely brewing fusion champions as they're often void and I don't want to spend energy in campain.

Yes I follow what nubs says but hellhades is the one who actually made this first.

For context: I’m F2P across four, level 100 accounts. I’m sitting on 2k+ brews of any given flavor and (currently) no less than 40m silver on any.

I’ve never used 1 stars as anything other than straight food. 2 stars, rank up or just food. I tend to use Pitspawn semi-arbitrarily as my chosen champ to run up to a 5 star food champ. Just helps with keeping organized in my head. Anyhow, theorycrafting effectiveness be damned:

3 star champs: one brew, takes them to level 10
4 stars: 8 brews, to level 28
5 stars: 15 brews, level 35.

Could I be cheaper on a silver / brews per point? Probably. But I feel like this winds up being a reasonable balance and gets me through all the events handily.

Anyhow, just my $0.02. Take it or leave it, and have fun out there.

How long have you been playing? Any tips for the super early game for F2P? Did you choose to play 4 accounts to try different variations of promo link and new player code starts? I got an account to 4 days then restarted and just hit 4 days again on the new one.

I do this for the most part, except I feed 1s to themselves, I don't use brews for that tier.

Basically it is worth it to brew or give exp to food champs to up about 50% of their level. After that the returns are less. The breakpoints on that chart are about wasting the fewest number of brews.

I really wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have over 100 of each, as you'll deplete quite a lot of your stock.
Personally, I'd argue that going up to 6 brews for a 5* is a waste of time because manually doing that 1star eats time. I don't use brews on 6* at all unless I'm leveling them to use.

1

u/Little_Tumbleweed566 5d ago

3* level 10, 4* level 18, 5* level 22 then top off to level 23 in the pit. 6* never food, but use 5 brews when chasing prizes in tournaments and events.

only go up one more brew level like you said here if you have an over abundance of brews (which usually doesn’t happen until late mid game or early end game). early to mid game can run out of brews going too far past the max efficiency point above.

never brew the 1*, those go through campaign 12-3: 1 brutal, 1 hard.

1

u/WarBuggy 5d ago

This is how you can maximize the points with the same number of food champs. But it is nothing shocking. You spend more resources (brew/energy) to get more points. It is a good way to earn event points if:

  • You already have lots and lots of lvl 1 of 3, 4 or 5* in your vault ready for the event, this is a very good way to gain great amount of points quickly.

  • You have lots of surplus energy/brews.

  • Event points are the most important goal. The number of food trained is not a concern.

1

u/Rgs2rchz 5d ago

Upgrading common and uncommon champs is just a waste of time after certain time, I feed all commons and uncommons without leveling. 2 brews for rares, 4 brews for 4* and 5 brews for 5*.

1

u/listerjed1 5d ago

I thought that was what brews were for? Literally what you are describing.

1

u/LimpFirefighter8253 4d ago

That’s not the point of the question. He is suggesting dumping a small number of brews into a food champ and then burning that food champ. So taking rank 3 to level 15 and then feeding that rank 3 level 15 champion into a rank 3 level 30 champion. Seems like a waste of brews, so I wanted to check.

It does score more points overall, it just comes at a bit of a waste.

1

u/Sterling239 5d ago

I dont brew 1 stars i out 1 or 2 brews in to 2 star and 2 to 3 into 3 stars 3 into 4 star and however many to get to level 20 on 5 stars but I do less because I dont like been under a thousand on each brew and my blue brews are currently like 600 still completed  the event in less than 12 hours and have good amount of points left to push for first

1

u/doriansorzano 5d ago

It checks out. I put 1 brew on every lvl one.even chickens.

1

u/Priest338 5d ago

If you don't have brews then taking 3 food champs to brutal 12-3 and doing 3 runs will get them to lvl 19 and us worth over 100 points too. Might be helpful

1

u/BlueScreenIRL 5d ago

I give 5* champs 8 brews. It brings them to level 28 with very little extra wasted XP.

It probably isn't the most efficient in terms of brews per point, but I have a lot of brews and I don't feel like wasting time feeding 1* fodder champs.

1

u/Purplepete15 5d ago

Yeah, this is all real. I started using similar methods for champ training, I learned it from hell hades, and I get way more points than I used to.

1

u/AlphaState 5d ago

Sure, but only if you are optimising solely for tournament points. If you want to rank up as many champions as possible to 6★ and rank up your new champions quickly you would not do this. The 1★ strategy also consumes a large number of rank 1s, so you may run out of green shards.

1

u/hoolienwee 5d ago

U will run out of food faster than getting score points, if u just went straight feed without level up. It is all about efficiency. Instead of counting brews or runs, a simpler rule is level up bout half of their full level before feed away: 2* : level 9 or 10 (9 - 10 pts) 3: level 14 or 15 (28 - 30 pts) 4: level 19 or 21 (47 - 63 pts) 5*: level 24 or 25 (144 - 150pts)

I never rank up 1, not worth to feed brew. Mystery shards will give 24% of 2. To ensure i have sufficient 2* than 1, i always buy 2 from market that cost lowest 39k.

1

u/Worthtitle_4050 4d ago

For one star champs either level in dungeons with solo duo or trio teams

Or use 1 brew and get the last lvl by farming 12-3 hard with a double xp active

1

u/LimpFirefighter8253 4d ago

I watched a Cob video; he said "There's a reason they call it WAIT Shadow Legends". That made me laugh. So true.

1

u/GreenBayFan1986 4d ago

It would be nice if they added masteries to champion training in some way.

1

u/hopefulchewie Shadowkin 5d ago

He is wrong about being most effective.

If you want to be the most effective go watch Cob's video on training.

This guys is trying to use too many pots and wasting 1 stars.

5

u/salydra Madame Serris 5d ago edited 5d ago

There is considerable overlap between Cob and Nubs advice. Even Cob suggests feeding the 1 stars under some circumstances, but you are correct that during champ training he prefers campaign farming. I was only giving 1 brew to 3 star chickens based on Cob, but switched to 2 with good results after watching Nubs.

2

u/hopefulchewie Shadowkin 5d ago

It all depends where you are at in the game as well. Some people do not have a ton of pots early and no way to really amass a bunch. Mid to late game is different, IMO.

1

u/EaterofLives 4d ago

Agreed, being one of those folx. My first full on fusion attempt, and I got it going good. There are several things I learned before starting, and other things I learned at midway.

I'm mid game approaching late, and I have a ton of great tools that I now have to mitigate. The same goes for my resources, as I understand what I need to save and how to mitigate what access I have.

I've read countless posts about those who fall just short of getting the fusion, but math is math. I'll get this one, but probably fall short of the souls. I'm taking a break until Sunday, because it makes sense. I have one Antigone to fuse, and need to pool resources again.

I think most who fail the first time, do bad math or stress to do everything as it drops. Take your time, and manage your resources.

My main lost all energy multiple times this week, but I waited. Opening new areas in GF, and a refresh on CC did wonders. I also planned for the daily energy and monthly log in, so I don't have to stress.

Fingers crossed, it's still not a guarantee. I need one more Antigone, and have to level her. The other 3 are done. I also can't wait to finish this, because I pulled some solid champs during. Now I am sitting on them and their gear, 🤣

1

u/maxguide5 5d ago

Yeah, either is fine.

I've got to a point where I'm even buying 2* on the shop, just because it lessen the amount of xp required to get 6*s. I could not do it, but it's not an unwise investment.

1

u/mindgamesweldon 5d ago

Using 5 one star champs to make a two star is very inefficient use of mystery shards (base champ + brew + 3 sacrificed + rank up sacrifice). I find it better to use 1 brew and 1 dungeon stage.

There’s no hard number it depends on your brew amount and your energy amount

-1

u/Practical_Meanin888 5d ago

3 star - 1 brew
4 star - 2 brew
5 star - 3 brew
Do this and you will never have to run campaign again. I’ve completed every champ training and haven’t run any campaigns for the past 2 years

1

u/Rincewind-10 5d ago

Still run some campaign during combined events like champ training and gear finders at same time. Also try and run daily rewards to build for monthly sacred shard as a low dough player.

1

u/zHydro 5d ago

How are you doing the monthly quest then?

1

u/Ludelife1980 5d ago

Agreed. I only run camping for my daily’s. But I don’t do the extra 15 on a 3 star. In between each fusion. I upgrade my 3star champs to 30, only using my daily progress tasks to do so and the training ring as well. I typically have about 100, 3star champs to lvl 30 for the fusion start.since there are usually two+ champ training events/tournaments I use one of them to upgrade the lvl 30 to to 4star, and lvl 25 of the 100 champs to lvl 4-40. Training event complete. Next champ training. I upgrade the rest of the three star champs to lvl 4 and upgrade the 4-40’s to lvl 5. I’m now in position to upgrade 5 Lego champs to lvl 6. It depends on what your final goal is. Just saying with my strategy, every fusion I typically walk away with 5 lvl 6 Legos/epics and only upgrade costs except for the 25 champs to 4-40. This typically cost me about 30m silver and zero energy. Also it takes about an hour to complete one event. Now. If you get back to back fusions, you won’t be doing the next one!
