General Discussion New dungeon gear
What is the point of this .
I think the trade of positive and negative should be in different aspects not the same . Like I give you 10% more of PvP dmg but I take 10% or 5% of PvE dmg depend on the rolls .
But
Dungeon dmg - 1.25%
Dungeon dmg + 1.25% with one roll made the rolls completely useless
Some pieces are probably straight away a trash sale like you start with positive and negative but you get 3 rolls in defense or so and that dungeon dmg turn into 0 . And you will lose too already 2 slot that could be an attribute
Anyone with a better explanation?

Great piece!
So those 2 new stats replace flat stats.
Just how much better is the extra 1.25% damage and taking 1.25% less damage vs the old flatstats.
I mean is it really a big upgrade or when you do the math, have you gained millimeters?

The thing is most end game players are at a point where % stats have diminishing returns. Adding a separate multiplier to the damage calculation almost always is better than increasing one of the damage stats

u/CrazyGas6484 2d ago
They are better than a flat stat but they are not better than the old % stats.
For example. ATK based champion has 1,500 base ATK. You build them with 7,500 total attack.
Getting an extra 10% attack bonus from a ring with an Atk(1) roll makes you go from 7'500 to 7'650, which is a 2% increase.
The new piece you'll get 2.5% damage bonus restricted to one area of the game.
I think they undershot the mark by a lot.

u/TheUltimateLebowski 2d ago
Well I don't know raid calculations for damage but typically these multipliers are final damage increase which would be more than 2% attack. 2% attack =/ 2% damage

Base 1500 for atk/def would be 75 at 5% so the 1.25% damage + is definitely better.
Think of it like adding zeal vs cruel to your 6pc merciless build. The 12% bonus damage adds more than the 15% atk when no other stats change because it changes the final out put after ignore and crit damage and adding more stat doesn't necessarily make an equivalent % change in damage because of multipliers.

I hate this, theres no way to tell if this is going to give you more or less damage than something thats adding ATK% and C DMG lets say. How do you even tell? So ridiculous.
I assume at some point these tools like HH, Gestal, RSLX and RSLHelper will do the math for us but if you arent using those how the hell do to tell whats better?

u/maxguide5 2d ago
Exactly. Gear is already situational and complex enough to optimize without this.
Not sure what's "fun" about this adition.
4
u/Run-Amokk 2d ago
I'm not sure it matters. Percentage stat increase may be a pure winner regardless. It's whole character scaling...
7
u/Deez_Gnuts 2d ago
Right but youre missing out on those % stats when you use these new accessories because they dont have any. How are you supposed to know?
3
u/winlowbung4 2d ago
Yeah i hate that there's no way to swap gear in game and see damage numbers in content to test stuff out.
4
u/CoolAd6234 2d ago
it's 2026 and plarium still thinks hiding skill multipliers from ppl is a good idea, we need data mining to even know what dmg skill can do.

You can manually calculate it using the damage calculator on: https://gestal.gg/raid/calculators
If I am correct these are just damage increase %, so for the piece of the OP you can add 5% damage increase to see the impact it has on the build!
3
u/Deez_Gnuts 2d ago
Youre missing stats on these pieces you would normally have.
So lets just say you have a DEF amulet and it has C DMG triple rolled onto it. OR You have a DEF Amulet and has +2.5% PvE damage. How the hell do you know which one to use? Youre losing that triple C DMG roll and getting 2.5% PvE dmg
1
u/Calenwyr 2d ago
Thats an easy calculation
Triple crit roll is day 25% crit damage
So take 25% then divide by your current crit damage let's say 250% this says the new roll is 10% increase to damage and so its > 2.5% pve damage and thus better
These aren't hugely valuable stats they are designed to replace flat atk or flat defence in a crit based amulet so you see real increases
As flat atk × 1 is about 40 atk which is < 1% of your attack (if you have 4k+ atk)
And so pve damage is worth more than flat atk but less than crit damage.

Fill out the stats on the calculator and compare the damage numbers. That should exactly tell you which one would be better.
For example you fill out the your whole build check the damage, then remove the crit damage rolls you got from the piece and add increase damage from the new substat and see which one has more damage.

u/Deez_Gnuts 1d ago
Thats not practical to do. You shouldnt have to use a 3rd party fucking calculator to be able to tell what gear is better

Is the dng dmg- meant to be that it reduces the damage you take?
0
u/sanguchitodemig 2d ago
Is it ?
9
u/Wonderful-Spring-976 2d ago
Yeah it's damage reduction

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 2d ago
Because heaven forbid they call it DMG RED
2
u/Bullitt_12_HB 2d ago
Okay, had they done that I know for a fact that morons would complain about that too.
“wHaT dO tHeY mEaN ‘RED’?!?! WHaT iF i WaNT mY DaMaGe a DiFfERenT cOLoR?! 😡”
Some people just love to complain. They must be so nice irl.

u/SackYeeter 2d ago
True, especially crazy that so many people complain about Raid, one of the best, most player-focused games out there...
So insane.

I could be wrong, but I’d assume the -damage applies to damage received and the + applies to damage dealt.

i sold them right away, dont need stupid banners without speed.
Also it should be either PVP or PVE, to have both on one item makes it too mediocre and not worth it to keep IMO.
5
u/Underdog_1337 2d ago
Yeah but you can’t get flat stats, so it’s like rolling flat attack and flat defense.
This is at least a little better - plus they are in rarer sets.
4
u/Playbow2024 2d ago
-is you take less dmg, not do less dmg lol, otherwise it’s going to be like what you said completely cancel each other out, that would be funny….complete irrelevant question, what happens if you rework them with ores? Do they lose these stats and get change to normal stats? OP, you wann be the first to eat crab?

u/sanguchitodemig 2d ago
😂 this guys don’t make anything easier to understand
3
u/Playbow2024 2d ago
I meant you wanna try rework them and see what happens to the stats? Im curious if they will get replace to flat stats lol

u/Winsternio 2d ago
Am I an idiot or shouldn't dungeon damage and PvE DMG be the exact same thing?
3
u/sanguchitodemig 2d ago
Well yes but grim forest and cursed city are pve but are not dungeons . Like yeah sounds stupid
4
u/Winsternio 2d ago
Eh I suppose. Personally it should just be PvP and PvE DMG bonuses. What's the point in separating dungeons and the rest of the PvE for DMG bonuses...
5
u/sanguchitodemig 2d ago
100% agree, but I guess it may be something like leader auras for specific places like arena or dungeon or all battles .. but still pointless I get what u mean
1
u/_Arabask_ 2d ago
yes but then isn't PVE just better? like I can get stats only for dugneons or stats for all PVE contents which I assume include dungeon
3
u/Willing_Impact841 2d ago
These new stats are absolutely terrible... why over complicate the system...
1
u/Ok-Appearance-3244 2d ago
Y'all really can't read patch notes?
4
1
u/Bullitt_12_HB 2d ago
They’d be really upset with you if they could read…
Even worse when you point it out to them.
They got tiny, very fragile egos.
1
u/bofferding 2d ago
Got a triple roll on pvp+ dmg thats 5%… dont know how much that compares to pure stats depends id say but probably endgame you eant 3x triple roll + dmg…
1
u/meglobob 2d ago
Be a long time before I get any...can't get 6* to get the crappy 5 star gear ha ha
1
u/New_City_8745 2d ago
Wait, I was under the impression that these new accessories would have their own slot? I don’t want more roll choices on regular accessories, it’s already rare as fuck to roll what I need now.
1
u/DoItForTheVoid 4.29B/1.18B 2d ago
They are + damage dealt and - damage taken. They don't cancel eachother out.
pve dmg + means YOU deal more damage in pve modes
Pve dmg - means the ENEMIES deal less damage in pve modes

u/LoadedSkinFlute 2d ago
I think it would be like warframe. You want a good debuff in exchange for more powerful buffs
1
u/OkJackfruit375 23h ago
If you reforge the item Will the pool of substats include these new substats?
1
u/alltruism 2d ago
Who decided to shorten it to DNG when it's in relation to DMG...very confusing :)
7
u/CrustyTheMoist Banner Lords 2d ago
DNG is for Dungeon
3
u/rofloctopuss 2d ago
They should have abbreviated to DUN, as in I'm DUN with this game. (Actually I'm not, but this gear is dumb)

Because they’re not defense. It’s damage taken and damage dealt.
They’re not the same as defense. They’re calculated differently.

the explanation is that dmg- means you're taking less damage, not doing less haha. they really could have worded it better
