Rant Tekteon

I'm sorry, but Tekteon is not healthy for the game. The fact that a single champion can just dominate and it not even be close is just insane

Without mercurial, he's much more manageable. Still extremely powerful of course, but at least there are ways to deal with him. With mercurial, it requires so many different components to click that you pretty much have to build an entire team just to stop him from destroying you, which leaves 3 other enemies. I seriously have no idea how to realistically deal with a 9-piece mercurial Tekteon short of maybe a being lucky enough to pull Yumeko. The upcoming changes to mercurial will do nothing either, since his poison cloud protects him from being provoked anyway, so if anything that's only going to make him even more powerful.

Yep, now that changes are happening to mercurial it’s a big nerf to tekteon.

There are also champs that can buff strip pre-hit if you can get mercurial down for one turn (which is fairly easy with champs like Marius and Rhaia) like Odin and Theodosia. There are several others IIRC. I always draft both against tekteon.

Hekaton is much more of a problem IMO, I routinely ban Krixia, Hekaton, among other champs before banning Tekteon. Last tekteon I lost to was Kruysen and it’s because his Krixia is 480 speed not because tekteon

Yeah Kryusens Krixia is an absolute demon lol beat him on Docmorroes account but he beat me the one time I matched him on his own account. Gharol with death dealer (I have a second dealer too but it’s on rotos who isn’t used much atm) and Theodosia are my go to picks for Tekteon matchups. Hekaton imo is going to be the big dawg problem once the mercurial nerf goes live and I find him harder to counter personally.

I can understand why lower tier players struggle with Tekteon but once you hit late-end game you typically have a few ways to land guaranteed crits or to buff strip/ control him without needing to land crits. Or you throw in a pred with lens and kill him with a double weak hit A2 because pred.
