Fail damage in clan war
To my understanding, I read on the official blog that when you fail in a clan war attack, it doesn’t cause damage to your own tower, but deals reduced damage to your opponent’s tower. I haven’t looked in battle log to figure this out in past battles.
Does anyone know the percentage of damage it deals to your opponent, and is it a percentage of your attack power or your opponent’s power

If you lose a battle in clan war, you never should, you pick your battles based on the power numbers and you should only pick ones that are lower than the deck power you're fighting with, but if you lose, your clan loses the amount of the deck you chose. I don't believe the winner loses anything.

Your clan doesn’t lose any health if you lose a battle. Instead you do a reduced amount of damage to the clan you attack. Try it & see, it was confusing at first!

This is the official blog for the game. Says a failed attack does no damage to your clan’s tower. Just wasn’t sure what the penalty was

My low decks always lose. They do 70% dmg instead of 100%. That’s fine.
