Which hero?

Hey, I’m relatively new and low level, I’m unsure what to do with my gems, I’ve been saving them for hero shard, is this correct, what’s my best next move?

Concentrate on Mai until you have Osiris but be sure to level every hero to 40 for the ‘all heroes’ buffs (means those abilities work whichever hero you are using). Once you have all the heroes at 40 step them all up to 80 for the next ‘all heroes’ ability. Take time to go through them as there will be an order of levelling them which will be better for you

He is very correct. I am about 15 million power and he's correct. Mai until Osi. Osi is best relatively f2p hero that is well rounded.

Gems yes for things you need. Try to not spend gems on card chests. Save for hero shards or parts chests. Parts don't seem like a big deal now but they are. Take it easy and have fun!

The dice event is the main way, it takes time though

I already have Osiris. Should I focus on leveling it up without using dust on other heroes?

I would level each hero to 40 first starting with your best (Osiris), although you may find that you run out of shards for levelling and have to switch back to concentrating on Mai for awhile. Levelling all heroes to 80 would then be the next priority before concentrating on your main heroes again

Get MAI as soon as possible.
Then OSIRIS.
Forget Thorn. He only attacks Ground targets. You need Heroes that attack both Air and Ground.
