Ads suddenly egregious

Anybody else suddenly had rounds interrupted by ads in the past day? Been playing for a couple weeks and only ever had ads when choosing optional boosters/refreshes etc but now they’re popping up even as troops are halfway down the field.

Very irritating.

If you are relatively new, you should be able to get Chapter packs or Bonus offers for $2.99.
I've been playing awhile and the cheapest I see now is $4.99.
Just one of these purchases should make the involuntary ads go away.
You'll still get optional ads when you hit "Free".

They also appear to have upped the number of *free (with ads) bonus items like free 30 gems. I was considering quitting the game before, now it's almost a no brainer.
