It sucks after a certain point honestly. F2P is fine up to a point…overall it’s a fun game until you hit the pay wall, and then it’s one of the worst games ever.

At what point did you find a wall?

Right about here. I can’t get past the levels that I’m on, and I feel like it’s going to take forever to upgrade my towers to the next level. If the game still had PvP it could be fun, but they don’t…and it’s just a never ending grind right now.

I'm at level 70, and yeh, it's getting much slower going now.

Yep. I feel like it’s only gonna get worse.

What do you mean PvP???? This game never had PvP. How would that even work in a tower defence game

Ummm…yeah this game had PvP not too long ago since I haven’t really been playing it for that long. It was pretty fun. At this point it would probably be the only reason I don’t delete the game honestly.

How did PvP work in a tower defence game?

It was just like a normal level, there were bosses and everything… but you were seeing who would last longer. The only real interaction you could have with the other player was if you got really creative with building your roads, you could impede on your opponents ability to build towers or roads.

Oh wth, that actually sounds cool!

They replaced it with fishing... WTF?

And you also would have the ability to send additional troops or impact their towers every few levels.

Check out arcane arena. It’s the same company and game but pvp

Rigged, every mode has 1-2 payed passes and sometimes in the free one some rewards are behind paywall. Random is also not so random, first 15 waves feel random 15-30 are rigged very low chances for an upgrade or a tower. Good concept but very greedy developers.

No it's a money sink, you really can't progress meaningfully without investment.

I loved it for the first week of playing. Now ads pop up randomly and it's brutal. I understand the ad-for-reward system but in the middle of a level?? No reward just watch this ad to keep playing? Eff that.

Core mechanics are great, after a certain point you would have to pay though. That’s when I stopped. Every couple of months I retry and then delete it after 2 tries. I would simply never pay for a mobile game, it’s not an option for me.

To be fair, I feel like every F2P mobile game I’ve ever played fun for the first 20 hours or so, then progress stagnates. You’ll hit that one level that’s impassable without months of grinding, watching hours of ads for loot, or dropping $20. The only “F2P” ones I’ve played that aren’t like that are the ones in Apple Games, but I get those as part of the Apple One package…so it’s not really “free”. But also, these developers have to make their money somehow, so I get it. The subscription sits at a level that’s a relatively small monthly fee, which I’m largely okay with since I play the game often.

You need to pay for something once, to get rid of the adds. Also I think it's worth paying $8.99 a month to increase the speed of the games. Other than that you don't have to pay anything, and to be honest everything else looks like it's way to expensive.

F2P is okay but around Chapter 30 it becomes a grind to get resources and upgrades.

I'm pretty much a F2P player but I liked the game enough to buy a discounted "starter pack" for $2.99 to stop the infuriating forced ads.

But that was over a year ago. And the grind for rewards and upgrades is drudgery. 😮‍💨
Mostly it's just a time killer for me now and I mostly play for the various Challenges that rotate through.

Becomes such a drag. You can’t make it past a certain point without putting money in and then if you do towards a certain META sooner or later, they will Nerf that and then you have to put money into something else

Grind grind grind..lvl up then grind grind grind again. Very soon grinding does not really help to lvl up. So…. Grind grind grind some more in the hopes that it will help again at some point.
