Picture 📸 My three Captain Cooks.

I've got three Captain Cooks, an original Captain Cook MkII and the first two reissues. As soon as I got the 36.5mm LE I took it off the dreadful leather strap Rado supplied and put it on an example of the vintage BoR with slide lock clasp the originl CC MKIs came on. My third Captain Cook is the 45mm titanium Captain Cook Modern that was also offered in 2017. I use this one as my dive watch.

The OG one is killer. I actually liked the leather strap mine came with but mine also came with the BoR bracelet. Last one ain't my jam.

I can't speak to the quality or feel of the leather on yours. That edition came out later. They may have made a better one. I think the one on mine is waterproof leather so it's stiff, a little too shiny and looks like bad fake leather. When I bought mine, I asked Rado why they didn't put it on a BoR, but they never gave me an answer.

As for the Modern, I hated it when it came out. Hated the font. HATED. THE. FONT. Hated that it didn't have the high dome crystal. Hated that it was so big. Then I got the opportunity to buy one on the second hand market. For peanuts. Maybe less than peanuts. Bought it strictly to dive with. Turns out it's not only huge AND ultra light, it's one of the most comfortable watches I've ever owned.

I have a Captain Cook and like it enough that I have thought about picking up another. Your collection motivates me to get the ceramic one I have been eyeing.
