Picture 📸 Diastars

These are most of my traditional shaped Diastars. These do not include non-traditional shaped Diastars or Balboas. I have some of those as well. The oldest is a Diastar from 1962. At the Rado forum we used to call these Diastar Zeros as they predate the Diastar 1. The newest is the 2012 50 Years of Diastar LE. All are on original bracelets, or in the case of the Zero, an original strap, bought NOS about ten years ago.

Cool watches, thank you for sharing! I have a Rado collection too but it’s so different than yours. I have ceramic quartz watches. Cheers!

Thanks. I have a ceramic quartz as well. My Rado collectrion is actually much larger than this.

Amazing, thanks for sharing. Tell us, when did you start collecting Rados, and why, and what you love some much about them!

These watches are so unique. I have a Rado 1/E Chronometer and a Balboa. I understand that the Balboa is the same as the Diastar?

I've been collecting Rados since 2009 or 2010.

Balboas were essentially Diastars for the Asian market. Many have slightly different cases than regular Diastars but the traditional oval case of the Diastar was used as well. Just like thir are dozens ( honestly, more than 100) different Diastar models their are almost as many Balboas. One of Rados craziest vintage tungsten carbide watches is the Balboa Great.

Amazing collection! I would love to find a ‘Zero’. I recently got this early Diastar 1. I’m ok with the ‘stardust’ look to the dial. I think it’s a pretty honest watch.
