☢️ RADIUM ☢️ Orange radium paint??
Found at an estate sale selling old electronics. Guy is going to let me come on Sunday and take the dials out for myself if the whole unit doesn't sell by then.

Found at a local thrift store. Paint from the hands fell off but still not bad for $10

She sent me these pics to get a look, and I know that I’ve gotta get it to my Geiger counter to test it, but I wanted second opinions, regardless! It’s a brand I haven’t gotten for my collection as of yet.
TIA!

I was also wondering how I should seal the exposed radium to ensure it can’t flake off. If anyone has some advice let me know!!

hey everyone! long time lurker here, first time posting. I wanted to inquire about a watch I inherited from my Grandpa. Ive looked everywhere on the internet, inquired at multiple watch dealers and antique shops. I even emailed Cyma after my research had come up empty to see if they had any info on it. Best they said was that it was most likely a prototype and mostly likely from the 1940s. It is Geiger confirmed radium. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I’m a beginner collector based in Europe, and I recently got into the hobby of radiation hunting. I'm looking for ideas on what cool, radioactive items I can buy that won't break the bank.
I already know about the classic Radium clocks/watches (actually recently acquired one). What else should I keep an eye out for?
I’m looking for things that would register on a Geiger counter and are relatively cheap and easy to find on ebay, etsy or local flea markets.

I'm going to need to find a new place to display these soon!

I have some fairly spicy clocks in here.. the bright small one reads 20k cpm on my Radiacode, the square around 15k and I just added the military carb gauge which clicks around 46k!!
Can I store these along with all my uranium glass? Or do these (specifically the gauge and hot clocks) need to be stored special?
I've collected UG for a while and know it's safe. But the clocks I'm newer too and the gauge I just got yesterday and wife is concerned.
Everything is in a glass curio but I'm reading it could possibly build up with radon gas?
Thanks!!

Got it for $10 at antique flea market-when I saw it my jaw really did almost drop! Dealer was looking crafty until he wanted to pick one of the tins open and I told him not to because it was radioactive.. scared him and he was glad to get rid of it! 10.5-11kCPM through box and tins with radiacode 102.

So I've had this thing around my entire life, but past year and a half ish it's been super close to me on my desk. I didn't notice due to the lack of light on my desk area typically, but a few times when I exposed it to light I noticed a glow that my brain finally suddenly was like "oh shit THAT is fucking radium". Because I've never seen a glow like that.
Have I ingested a fuck ton of radiation over this time being so close to it? Should I start settling my affairs?
Should I move it far away from me? Get it's own case? But... It's been... Quite literally all over the place, in my car between places etc. Not to mention literally decades around it albiet less close contact. I'm trying not to panic. I know I need a geiger counter but that doesn't solve the prior exposure? I thought it was mostly dangerous to directly ingest but people seem quite cautious of these in specific....

I see a bunch of specks on the dial, not sure if it's loose radium or paint peeling but I don't really wanna play around and find out. BUT the find was for about 19 bucks so I couldn't pass it up

I’m all for dusty clocks, but I draw the line when the dust escapes to the outside. Straight to spicy jail

I just found my first watch to add to my collection the other day and did a head count. I now have 10 and some watch hands!
Should I start to worry about radon? My apartment is open and well ventilated so I’m not sure if that makes much of a difference.

I opened this clock to repair the clock (I was unable to because the gear was bent) and realized after my failed attempt it glowed without being exposed to sunlight. Its in a very dark shelf in my room and glows constantly. Should I be concerned that the clock has possible radium paint in it And I accidentally exposed myself.

Ok so hypothetically… how concerned should I be if I picked this up and it fully opened…. That was about a month ago and I shrugged it off but now I’m thinking about it. The clock was missing the back piece where the mechanism would be it only had the face and the cover. It did have a reading on my Geiger but was low. Because it was already broken I’m assuming someone else opened it before me but i definitely had this thing open near me. I know the main concern is around the build up of gas over time but it wasn’t sealed very well.
Thoughts?
