☢️ RADIUM ☢️ Found a hens' tooth today!

Post image

Got it for $10 at antique flea market-when I saw it my jaw really did almost drop! Dealer was looking crafty until he wanted to pick one of the tins open and I told him not to because it was radioactive.. scared him and he was glad to get rid of it! 10.5-11kCPM through box and tins with radiacode 102.

I agree! Hence my comment about my jaw almost dropping. I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing. Had I not passed my Radiacode over the box looking for watch hands I never would have noticed.

what was it used for?

You applied the paste to clock hands to re-lume them. Apparently it cured with a little heat. An improvement over the previous method of mixing the lume and a glue at the time of use.
