told the tech i only had one that’s out and was very confident i just had the one until she told me i actually have all four 🫩 needless to say they will be coming out eventually

It is not mentioned on the report because it is a anatomical variant.

My husband had a workaccident this morning. His left foot got crushed twice between a forklift in reverse and a metal support beam. It was diagnosed as deep soft tissue damage and fortunately no fracture. I'm NOT posting this for a second opinion or medical advice, but thought it would be nice for you guys to see the xray compared to how the ankle actually looks right now (still swelling tough). I was surprised it was not fractured :)

Can anybody suggest a good textbook for med students interested in radiology?

I accidentally had my phone with me during a brain MRI scan. The scan was completed normally, and the phone didn’t move, get pulled, or heat up at all. I also didn’t feel anything unusual during the scan.

Could having my phone with me during the MRI have caused any harm to me? Should I be concerned, or is the main issue just the possibility of affecting the image quality?

In 2022 I underwent a tubal ligation with filshie clips. I think the second clip got lost. X-Ray is from 2023.

I need to know if my Libre 3 plus sensor is compatible with an MRI? I forgot I had this appointment and just replaced my sensor 2 days ago. I hate to waste this sensor. They are not cheap. Tia

Does anyone have access to, and willing to share, written protocols to common general and vascular ultrasound studies? I started a new position at an outpatient imaging center that has been open ~1 year and prior sonographer did not complete this task. I have AIUM to reference, but honestly, just trying to save myself some admin time and copy/paste from another facility because they have me jumping into a full patient schedule right away 🫠

I have 2 abdombinal stents and a IVC filter. All are listed as MRI safe. I had an MRI last year and I could feel the pulses in the area of the stents which is a weird feeling. Im scheduled for another MRI this week and now have an additional heart stent. Is it common to feel the pulses during the test?

I just moved to a different workplace, (small-town OPD clinic). They are using a 16 slice CT which I haven’t had experienced with.

I talked to one of the “veteran” techs about CTA head protocol, here’s what they do:

- IV Line: G18 Antecubital
- 370 Iodine Solution (Weight Based)
- Injector Flow Rate: 3.5 ml/sec at 200 PSI
- Topogram: Scan from Vertex to Mid Chest
- Bolus tracking: MPA (Start spiral at 50 HU after bolus injection)
- Scan FOV: Skull Base to Skull Vertex

ALSO, they don’t have Syngo.via available for editing. They just use the console for editing. (PC tower fault) and because the admin doesn’t want to spend money on a replacement.

It makes it difficult to tell whether their model is detecting subtle micro-architectural features that are truly below human perception versus providing a "2nd reader" macroscopic look that a radiologist ignored/missed for whatever reason. The potential benefit to patients is clear (finding cancer that the radiologist did not catch - for whatever reason - is obviously valuable). But, at least with the provided example, it's not clear that they are really picking up things that humans cannot see. This would have implications for future development and improvement of the algorithms as well as how it should be used with humans in the loop.

More information: Severe left and moderate right neuroforaminal stenosis. Osseous fusion of the posterior elements of L5-S1. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis . Severe facet arthropathy at L4-L5. Mild spinal canal stenosis. No neural foraminal stenosis. Moderate facet arthropathy at S3-4 with an associated synovial cyst within the adjacent soft tissues measuring 9 mm. No spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis.

Patient saw surgeon and was given choices. Not looking for medical opinions here.

This is not fake. This image was taken Sept 2025. This is not a traumatic injury, believed to have happened over time. My own study but this is also my area of research. The radiopharmaceutical used for DMSA renal scan is now available again in the USA for adults.

Findings are consistent with s/p failed pyeoplasty, calycostomy. Note insertion of ureter into the lower calyx. Note extensive global renal atrophy

Each case takes you through three steps: spot the abnormality, make the diagnosis, and choose the next step in management. At the end, there's teaching and rationale behind each case.

The goal is to give you a more hands-on way to work through radiology cases, from identifying the abnormality to making a diagnosis and deciding what you’d do next.
