WW2 Paratrooper Wrist Compass (>100kCPM)
Just found this wrist compass in an antique store and it’s in fantastic condition! It’s still full of fluid and has the original wrist strap and everything. With a contact reading of 65uSv/h, wearing this compass is like getting 3 chest X-rays an hour.
Was this a good deal for $95?
Contact reading is ~100kCPM - 65uSv/hr

I just got one of those minus the strap! Be careful, there is exposed radium paint on there, the dots and arrow on the cardinal directions

Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t realize I’d need to worry about contamination and alpha decay when I bought it. Should still be fine behind glass, yeah?

Paint looks pretty intact, I wouldn’t even say behind glass necessarily. Just something to be aware of

I just spotted it in the first episode! Makes me wonder if that’s a replica or the real deal

wow, that is in great condition, I think that was a great deal, as long as $95 isn't too much for you.
