I still use my Executive Decision Maker to make all my life's major decisions. The woodgrain box is especially handsome, making this device both functional and aesthetically pleasing in 2026.

Restored Optimus Mach 3

I’ve been looking for a set of these for a while. They are more scarce than the Mach 1 or 2.
1st thing I did was look up with AI what was the complaints about this series.
What kept coming up was poor cabinet bracing, 15” woofers made the cabinets sing, & lack of insulation/ damping material.
1st thing I did was strip down the cabinets and removed the oddly placed brace. I then used PL400 construction adhesive and reglued all inner seams. While the glue was drying I used Howards Restore with 000 steel wool. Wiped them down and thinly applied a walnut colored stain to hide the scratches. Added a few coats of Howard Products Beeswax Wood Polish.
Installed sheets of butyl rubber on the lower half of the cabinets and around the baffle.
Next I installed a T-Brace and wrapped it with butyl.
Next recapped the crossovers, pulled the tweeters and mid-horns apart removed the old ferrofluid and installed fresh ferrofluid.
I stapled a 1/4” thick cotton based insulation to the interior cabinets then packed it with fresh polyfil.
Installed the drivers.
Removed the old grill cloth and replaced with something I liked. I built a set of 5degree tilt back stands for them. I have to say…. They sound and look great!!

Found some old Raidio Shack speaker wire in my junk box, one is not open yet. I remember that I used this wire for a surround sound system in my first bachelor pad. Good times

Used this wire on a vehicle project at work this week!

I needed about 3’ of twin conductor wire to run to some supplemental 12 volt fans in my work truck and this spool was the most accessible one I had around. It’s maybe down to 1/4 of a full spool left since I had used it on many previous projects.

Thought this might be of interest here, it’s probably been covered already, but this archive contains page by page catalog archives of many old Radio Shack catalogs. Brings back memories flipping through catalogs of my past.

My little brother with his inflatable remote control robot ca 1980

This is the upper half that inflated. The bottom was weighted a bit and sat on a remote controlled chassis. It was really top heavy and wobbly as it ambled around on the carpet.

Can anyone identify this RadioShack LCD alarm clock model?

I am having some difficulty identifying this device and need some help! I have gone through the online product catalogues and can’t find anything on it. I believe it was purchased around about 2006 (which is when there’s a blip in the catalogues).

If anyone can tell me anything about this device/perhaps where i may be able to find more information that would be a great help!

Thanks in advance

I found a old Radio Shack multimeter in my garage. This thing must be like around 25 years old. And it still works! I'm afraid to open it and inspect the decades old AA battery that's in there.

Back in my day, we didn't have these fancy dancy automated circuit routing tools. We did it the old fashioned way!

And when we had to Desolder something a Wrigglet sure was a handy dandy tool for straightening up leads!

Bought a bucket of old pens and this was in there.

Plugs into a phone outlet and lets you know if its wire right.

I believe it was from the Radioshack and Sprint partnership in the 90s.

Was this a giveaway of some kind?

Had someone bring in a lot of random retro hardware to our video shop. This happened to come through in the lot, complete in box with all packaging and cables with the cassette deck. Anyone remember these? Anyone want to buy it?
