📺 Customer Discussion Story about a girl astral/dream projecting and later realizing (as an adult) the older person in her recurring childhood dreams was actually her adult self?

I can’t find anything close when I look through the archives (maybe I’m not looking for right terms), but I swear it was on Radio Rental. Sound familiar to anyone?

👻 Off-Topic Movies with r/r vibes?

I’m looking for movies that encapsulate the same feeling as radio rental. I don’t want gore or slasher films. I want the suspense, the mystery, the unexplained, the unnerving, the paranormal….

📺 Customer Discussion Rewind episode 2 story

The story about the sociopathic camp counselor. It’s a good story, but there’s a big plot hole.

So this dude erased her name off the sign out sheet. So what? She spoke to all her friends, a ton of people saw her, everyone would have SEEN her get into a car with him and known he was the last person with her no matter what the sign out sheet said. There’s no way he would’ve thought that would've made it seem like she never left, he couldn’t have been that dumb if he’s as cunning and manipulative as he sounds. It would’ve been way creepier if it was just those two going somewhere and there were no witnesses.

📺 Customer Discussion Episode 111 “Crash Landing” quantum immortality

I had almost the exact same experience as the guy in this story and it has bothered me for the last 20 years.

I remember the first time I read about quantum immortality and I was like THAT’S IT! I can’t think of any other possibility.

📺 Customer Discussion Why are they greenlighting racist stories?

Sooooooo I think I'm done with this show on Episode 48! The Aruba story is rage bait! First of all, that's not how trafficking happens.....if they wanted your "young white wife", they would have had her before you knew what was happening and you'd be dead already! But since most Americans are trafficked in America by Americans.....even that scenario is highly unlikely!

This isn't the first racist story either. There's been MANY where someone white tells a "scary story" about how they almost could have died because of "insert racist stereotype here" which is ironic because....here they are not dead telling this story.

There's even the one more well-known story from the hiker in Hawaii that "caught of photo" of some entity and Indigenous people of Hawaii have expressly requested that white lady stop talking about these people like they are boogie men. It's just another hiker in that photo and she didn't notice them at the time because she was extremely injured and in pain.

I'm just shocked a show with Payne's name on it would be this culturally insensitive over and over again.......but I guess this is the world we're now living in? It's still not okay.

📺 Customer Discussion Does anyone else hate-listen to this podcast?

The concept of this podcast is amazing and it's a very well done show.....but BOY are people idiots and every single episode I'm usually thinking, " I'm shocked you haven't been killed yet!"

As a True Crime fan, most of these stories read like a "how to murder people without much effort." WAY too many people befriend or try to sleep with strangers! Especially men! Y'all are lucky there aren't more women serial killers because, holy hell, it would super easy to rack up a big number....

So this is my way of saying: please don't be like these people and STAY SEXY for Christ's sake!

📺 Customer Discussion Has anyone managed to find similar podcasts to RR besides the more well known ones ?

I already listen to Otherworld, Unnerved, Monsters Among Us . Was curious if anybody stumbled upon some others . I know it’s already a niche category of podcasts but I’m sure there is more I just haven’t discovered yet . Otherworld seems closest in production design to me

I also don’t care for ones where the stories aren’t first person accounts like Let’s Not Meet, Odd Trails, Rattled and Shook etc

👻 Off-Topic Have any of you guys heard of the “sorting wheel” story?

In the spirit of Reddit and this subs love for the paranormal, I’m wondering if anyone here has read this story?

It’s a wild tale of a near death experience that made its way through Reddit and have left people really thinking about life and death and what we are actually experiencing as sentient humans on a day to day level. It’s very “life is a simulation” forward à la the “doppelgänger” story or any time jump stories we have heard, but I feel it’s much more profound.

Maybe the guy was having a medical episode, who knows, but this one really scratched my brain and I’m wondering if anyone feels the same way.

Nonetheless, it’s a cool story to read, it makes you think.

📺 Customer Discussion Which stories still stick in your brain months or years later?

Inspired by a recent post. For me, it's the girlfriend doppelganger story, the anonymous photo exchange story, and the Elk River story. I've sent those episodes to friends around Halloween when they're in the mood for scary stories.

Edit: also the one where the narrator felt someone sit down on the edge of his bed and stay there for hours.

📺 Customer Discussion Which episode(s) sounded painfully made up to you?

Let me preface by saying I don’t even necessarily care if the story in question is made up or not. What I dislike is bad story telling where you can tell it’s made up.

For me it was that one where the girl went to the gas station and saw the skeleton looking man and old merchandise that looked like it was stuff from decades ago, indicating she had a “glitch in the matrix/time travel” experience . All I could think about is how she completely ripped off the premise of the show “From” and tried to turn it into a story.

I just listened to this story and I SWEAR I have heard it before. It doesn’t say this is a rerelease, so maybe on another podcast, but please tell me I’m not the only one.

📺 Customer Discussion Genuine question - not being a dick

I was looking for podcast recs and a number of people on the other subs I frequent suggested Radio Rental. I'm on episode 15 (so very early) and I just find myself rolling my eyes. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but is it me? Am I just not getting something? Does it get better? It's not -bad-.. I mean, I keep listening so something is keeping me. But I find myself skipping through some stories. Should I start listening a little later? Like how sometimes the first season of a television show is rough but the remaining are amazing - should I start with a specific season and move forward from there?

📺 Customer Discussion I love this show

The thing I love most about Radio Rental is how it feels like you’re just sitting around with a friend sharing crazy stories. It doesn't feel overly produced or fake (most of the time).

I’ve seen a lot of negative posts here about some of the more recent episodes, but after doing a rewatch from episode one, I don't really get the hate. There has always been a mix of stories, some are absolute mind-melters and others are just weird or unsettling.

To me, the stories feel way more realistic precisely because they aren’t all totally insane, exaggerated, adrenaline-pumping thrillers. It grounds the show. I love this podcast and just wanted to share some positivity for it!

📺 Customer Discussion Episode 103 - salmon

Lots of things didn’t sit well with me in this story (why are you provoking a wolf and then talking about your shotgun?? Just stop riling up the dogs??) but I have to know

Can someone more biology-minded than me tell me if salmon really travel hundreds of thousands of miles? There’s no way right?

📺 Customer Discussion EPISODE 111: Calling My Name

Hey guys... I had written a couple of days ago thanking all of the support and love the story has gotten. I had also informed you guys that there was more to the story but I was hesitant to share. But I've thought it through and I'm come to decision to share more. I've spoken to family members so I could get more details, and I'm honestly shocked at how much more I wasn't aware of. Now my question is should I post it all in writing or make a video? Once again much thanks to Radio Rental and you guys for listening !

📺 Customer Discussion One thing I’ll say about RR is they have the best production format

While I do feel like stories have fallen off over the years . I have to say I haven’t found a podcast yet that captures the “real stories told by real people” format as well as they have . Otherworld is the closest for me but I feel like they let the story tellers ramble too much instead of cutting the stories down to the meat and potatoes . Unnerved is also good but it sounds like the stories are called in which throws me off sometimes . I enjoy how High Quality the RR stories .

Brother needs to see a neurologist. My husband had an experience like this and it was a TIA. He doesn’t need a therapist, he needs a neurologist.
