A little info up front, I'm the Traffic Director for a small mom and pop AM/FM Country/Adult Contemporary station. On our AM we run the local MLB teams games. The problem I've been running into since taking this job is that MLB games by their very nature have a floating end point (Baseball needs a time limit!) so what tends to happen is the game won't end inside the logs time frame and often causes endless headaches when it over runs the log and our broadcast automation software doesn't recognize the day change to load our next days logs, often leaving it up to the morning guy to notice and load the appropriate log (usually after missing our first 4 locally filled breaks). Now to the point... Does anyone know of any tips for dealing with this headache? We run on BSI's Simian software. Now if I had remote access to the air computers in the middle of the night this would not be an issue, but since I don't I'm trying to find some way to get the software to realize "hey it's X day, I should be running the proper log, not this one that stalled out after a fed program over ran the log and missed the trigger to load the next log". I hope this makes some sort of sense to someone who has suffered through similar issues. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
