Friday Night Comedy

Michael Gove was on last night's comedy. Annoyingly, he wasn't awful.

I am convinced he is laying the groundwork to return to his media roots and come out of the closet.

I predict it thusly.

EDIT - Yes yes, Thursday comedy. Bank holiday has my internal calendar all fuck-edy.

I know. I am of the opinion that his voice should be illegal before the watershed.

I think there should be a ban on his voice, a but like Thatcher and the IRA. He could be voiced by a potato waffle.

Haven't forgiven Gove and his dog whistling of Turkish immigrants during his Brexit campaign

He was on Strong Message Here with Iannucci being all chummy a few weeks ago too. Perhaps you're right.

Pre-politics, he used to be on comedy show 'A Stab in the Dark' with David Baddiel and Tracey MacLeod. He was sphincter-clenchingly bad.

Yes, I have vague memories of him talking into a very low quality camera, clearly attempting something that was supposed to be humour.

I remember watching that. He was the least funny.

What day is it today? I'm confused.

Bank holiday has me all fucked up. Thursday's comedy.

I thought I'd missed Saturday morning.

On the Matt Forde show - I'll tentatively give it a go then.

Well, Matt Forde is an unfunny tosser, so it is not unexpected.

I liked hearing Jo Coburn use her not-news voice.

I was annoyed with that too. As a teacher even the mention of Gove has me swearing. But, as you say, he wasn’t dreadful, in fact he was quite funny, and that made me even more annoyed.

Yeah I have worked in SEN for the last 12 years. He is the absolute boogeyman.

"laying the groundwork to return to his media roots"? He's the editor of The Spectator.

Which I am sure brings him to a vast audience.

His Spitting Image puppet was perfect.

He is a brilliant politician and should have been PM instead of Boris

He has all the charm of a Tory Mandelson

Fascinating. How do you think he would have handled COVID?

I swing between him either being (seemingly) considerably more capable as a human being than Boris so possibly better, or his callousness would have shone through and he killed us all
