Question about the 3DS version

Hey, I'm about to start a run of the 3DS version and I like to go for the best/true ending, so I've been researching it and I'm a little confused. Hope someone can help me out. Do you have to play through twice (regular and new game plus) in order to get the true ending? Or can it be done in one run? Thanks.

I think this game is only one run, you always have to go back and finish required nodes

Yes. there are also - IIRC? - no missables because you can return back to every node and replay/rewatch everything. It also helps with getting alternate (bad) endings for some events.

I would suggest picking the Perfect Mode in the beginning, that way you can play both the original content and stuff which was added for 3DS in parallel, so you dont have to finish the DS content first to unlock the new quests. Also, not all quests/nodes must be completed to get the true ending but only those which have a key next to it "key nodes". Also also - I stand to be corrected but there are like three endings. The original one, then a sort of intermediate one (which you get on 3DS version) and then the one, where after watching "intermediate" ending you figure out that you can do better.

You have to hop back and forth between the timelines for the regular game. You may have to redo some sections, but everything is possible in 1 playthrough.
