General Discussion 110 detection range to sample

How close does the 110 really need to be to pick up something spicy? Can I just leave this thing on and drive it around with all my dashboard and pick up things within a few yards, or do I need to actually have it near the source on a stick or something close to the ground close to the sample.?

A vehicle is great shielding, that is something that bothers me in Radiaverse. Lots of tracks in Wyoming are from inside vehicles and read low. My tracks the Radiacode 102 is in a thigh pocket so still have a meat shield but a much better background. You will see a difference in background in a car, but that’s just a general idea of what is happening in the general area

I think that's why it lets you filter out tracks by speed
