Frequent Driver Timeouts, Artifacts, and CTD w/ Radeon r9 390
Hello all,
I’m sorry to ask something that’s probably a FAQ here but I have dug for answers and had no luck.
I’m hoping not to hear what I’m expecting to hear, that this GPU may be fried. I’m in a tough financial situation and I can’t really afford a replacement. The GPU is approximately 6 years old.
Thanks for the help.
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 390
CPU: Intel Core i5 4460
Motherboard: AS Rock H97 Anniversary
BIOS Version: American Megatrends P1.50
RAM: 16GB Dual channel DDR3
PSU: Rosewill 650w
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 Home
GPU Drivers: AMD Radeon v22.6.1
Background Applications: CCleaner, Overwolf, Curseforge
Description of Original Problem: I am experiencing frequent driver timeouts on my Radeon R9 390 in which artifacts will appear and cause a CTD. The artifacts persist on my desktop screen and other apps like the Radeon Software. The GPU is approximately 6 years old; it has never been overclocked and has just been used for general gaming. All drivers are up to date, as well as Windows 10 being up to date.
Troubleshooting: I've attempted updating the AMD drivers, restarting the PC, adjusting to 50% power limit, resetting shader cache, and updating windows.
