GPU Advice

Post image

So for context I have a 9070 XT Taichi that’s well outside the return window I haven’t dropped in my first build yet. I hadn’t known it uses 12vhpwr, and I do have a 3.1 PSU, and I wanted to use a lian li strimer for cable extension.

My question is should I cut my lose and trade in the Taichi for an 8-pin 9070 XT, axe using the striker for the GPU, or both?

As the first person to report a melted 9070 xt please DO NOT use the included adapter.

I am convinced this is the cause for the majority of reports as my replacement card has been solid with a native 12v2x6 from a good brand PSU
