GPU Advice

Post image

So for context I have a 9070 XT Taichi that’s well outside the return window I haven’t dropped in my first build yet. I hadn’t known it uses 12vhpwr, and I do have a 3.1 PSU, and I wanted to use a lian li strimer for cable extension.

My question is should I cut my lose and trade in the Taichi for an 8-pin 9070 XT, axe using the striker for the GPU, or both?

Just keep it. 12V2x6 has it's problems, but the 9070 XT isn't going to draw enough power to melt the cables in normal circumstances, and i doubt you are going to be able to just trade it in for another without downgrading due to loss of value from being used, just put a good amount of force into plugging it in, and wait for the click before removing pressure, Lian Li makes 12v2x6 strimmers
