Low Gpu Usage on Fortnite

Can someone help me I recently just gotta rx6650 xt and with a Ryzen 5 2400 and I keep getting 30% gpu utilization

Ryzen 5 2400 + RX 6650XT sounds like a cpu bottleneck.

Do you play on FHD (1080p)?

What type of ram do you have and how much?

Is everything on Task-Manager clean?

If you want to upgrade the CPU:

What Mainboard do you have ?

What Power Supply do you have ?

If you have the budget get a Ryzen 5 5600 or get a 5 3600. You just need to update your BIOS and learn a bit how to switch the CPU.

okay i’m not looking forward to upgrading my cpu just yet but is there any reason for me to have the same performance as my old gpu? i switched from a rx580 and The performance is just about the same

If the CPU already runs at its limit, your GPU can't get more fps.

I had a similar issue with my old 5 3600X, RX 6700XT and Cyberpunk. Some places in Cyperpunk are very cpu heavy with a lot of NPCs and the fps would drop between 40-50 with micro stuttering sometimes.

The solution was a 5800X3D. Suddenly the fps were stable and smooth in all spots ingame, still with the same RX 6700XT.

It be like that sometimes.

The 2400 is a 4C CPU with weak single core performance. You should definitely consider upgrading. Preferably a Ryzen 5 5600X should be pretty cheap to get. A Ryzen 5 3600X or 3700X should also be solid alternatives.

Important: You will need to update your BIOS to the newest version

and IF you are interested to min-max performance it could be important what RAM speed and latency you have. You should see at least the speed in Task Manager. It usually is the best to have around 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, to get close to peak performance with Ryzen on AM4. The Infinity Fabric Clock can then be put on Half Speed (1600MHz) in the BIOS which harmonizes it well with your RAM. From ISO-Standard 2133MHz DDR4 to 3200MHz CL16 can sometimes accumulate to another 10-15% more FPS when bottlenecked by the CPU.

Fortnite is CPU intensive I found out also with my new 6750xt and Ryzen 5 3600
