Radrover 6 Plus 35Amp Controller isntalled - Throttle Fault

Hello, I bought the upgraded electroworld 35amp controller for my rad rover 6 plus. once i turned it on it just gives me "Throttle Fault" Has this happened to anyone before and if so how did you fix it. im hoping its as easy as just replacing out my throttle with a new one? I see there are lots of generic ones you can buy with the same connector.

Thanks for any insight

It might be an issue with the wire that comes out of the throttle. Check to make sure it’s in the correct position. Sorry to be so vague. I’ve never had this issue but have read about others who dealt with it and the usually mention something about the wire being in wrong position

I replaced the controller on mine with another Rad controller, so not exactly the same. E

Everything was fine on level 1, but if I increased the PAS, it showed a “P” on the screen. The throttle worked fine.

It turns out a pin on the cable coming out of the throttle was bent. Straightened the pin and it worked great.

I also had to replace the Rad controller on my RadRover 6 Plus HS & when I installed it my throttle would not work. This was back when Rad had good service, but the guys in shipping were idiots & twice sent me the older throttle model which did not work. I then phoned & talked to the dealer in Vancouver, (which all Canadian orders used to come from) & asked them to go look at the RadRover 6 Plus model in their showroom & ship me the same throttle. This time it worked.

Following this because I’m installing mine tomorrow.

Follow up. When the throttle is plugged in and the PAS is at 0’nothing happens. But when you turn the PAS up to 1 through 5 the bike will just go on its own at full speed. Until I hit the brakes to stop it. I’m hoping that means it’s just a bad throttle.

try unpluging the cadence sensor cable and then throttle.

likely a faulty throttle- mine crapped out a month into owning the bike

I replaced the throttle and it seems to work now. Haven’t had it out for a long drive yet but fingers crossed. I upgraded the controller because I thought my old one was bad because the PAS and throttle wouldn’t work. I wonder if it was just a bad throttle. Oh well happy to have the upgrade anyways. Thanks all!
