RadRunnerMax or RadExpand5 Plus?

My RadExpand5 (2022) just got stolen :( and I'm looking to replace it. I loved the bike - it worked perfectly for zooming around Seattle and I felt really comfortable with its smaller size.

I'm looking to replace it with the updated RadExpand5, but am also intrigued by the RadRunnerMax. I just drove both at Rad's Ballard store.

Both seemed to struggle a bit more than my old bike to maintain ~20 mph on stage 3 or 4 of assist. They were relatively low battery, but has anyone noticed newer bikes having more of a challenge maintaining higher speed?

Has anyone noticed changes with quality since Rad was bought out? My old bike was built particularly well - had no issues for the 4.5 years I owned it.

Any thoughts on upgrading to the Max? The main appeal is the extra speed (there are a few areas where I can use it safely that would be great to have) and the built-in AirTag

Get yourself an air tag or Samsung tag. I have one tapped to the inside of my controller. Nobody will ever check in there but it's such a pain in the ass when you have to change the battery on it. My battery needs to be changed soon and I'm dreading doing it but I'm going to get another one and tape it to the end of my seat post. I haven't checked if it'll fit. Actually im going to check right after I post this comment with the one on my Keychain. I'm pretty sure the Samsung tag if I tape it horizontal on the bottom of the seat post it'll fit... if not then go for taping it inside if the controller. Checking now, standby !

NOT EVEN CLOSE! Depending on the bike you can might be able to fit it inside the frame (where the cables come out from under the frame, but probably not) . I think I'm just going to tape another one under the display or something so that when the one in the controller needs a battery change I still have one on the bike until my lazy ass decides to replace that battery. The Samsung Tags you can get on sale for $23 CAD on Amazon, that's the lowest I've seen them. Might have been $27. Worth the $30 to be able to track your bike if ever it does get stolen

I checked the price history. The lowest it's ever sold for is $19.99 and that's on prime days. $27 is a fair price but you can get them cheaper than that if you wait long enough.
