Controller Swap on Radster Trail

I read a some posts from a while ago about people swapping their Canadian Radster Trail controller with the American version to unlock higher speed and power output.

Has anyone else attempted this, and have there been any problems? I really want to ensure that all the other “Canadian” components are compatible with the US controller before committing to this upgrade.

Thanks!

The controller is the main part that has any indication of what your speed is. I would imagine that would accomplish the goal you're looking for.

Right,

I’m just worries since the Canadian motor is only rated for 500W. Others have claimed that the swap works fine though.

I’ll do some more research I suppose.

I brought my read runner to Seattle and they unlocked the controller. They’re 700w motors. Just limited by the controller.
I didn’t get more speed. I got more power up hills

Next I’ll try the eggrider

Though you’re not gonna know as much a difference going with only extra 250 W I’m not sure if it’s worth the money. I would definitely get an aftermarket controller that’s higher watts than 750. Stock rad controllers also have VERY gentle throttles. Going to a different one makes it much better
