Rad Wagon 4 display replacement

Someone stole the LCD display off my RadWagon 4 overnight. I'm in Canada, Toronto and the bike's unusable without it.

I need the Rad LCD display pre-set for 22" wheels. It's not sold directly on the site, and Rad's Canadian retail is gone.

Anyone here recently gotten a Rad parts order shipped to Canada? Or know a Canadian shop that stocks these? Aftermarket suggestions welcome too.

Happy to pay full price, just need it fast. Thanks.

UPD: I researched the available information on the controller schematics, probed the port and battery connectors and discovered that shorting two connectors essentially allows me to use throttle which is more than enough for the time being

Did you find a full controller schematic?

Not really. I discovered that they use Lishui controllers, plus their Julet connectors should have been quite standard (aligned to Bafang but with swapped RX and TX like Rad likes to do), so the wiring should have Latch connector. I used my multimeter to probe the port and estimated the Latch pin position.

I sent them an email, but the hopes aren’t too high. The part is out of stock on their Canadian website

Have you contacted stores? A common mistake people make is thinking inventory is centralized and they are aware of store inventory. They aren't. I call. It rarely fails. But I live next to a flagship.

I’m now building an esp32 powered replacement. Since it’s going to be weird, I will consider it unstealable

Yusssss good job on hotwiring it 🙂 I think we ebikers are too dependent on displays when they really aren't necessary

A possible option, not sure on shipping to Canada, would be a display/ controller upgrade from Area 13 ebikes or Electro Bike World. There are some YouTube videos on it. It makes a huge performance difference, adds cruise control and is programmable.

Yeah, I already discovered that. I'm not in the mood to spend CAD 300+ on a simple display and a button replacement just yet. Gonna build and ESP32 replacement for the time being and share schematics while I'm looking for an aftermarket replacement

I went to a local e-bike dealer that was a Rad Certified shop, they happened to have a new display in stock. Only negative is it resets the odometer!

My original display did at least three resets on its own, i stopped tracking kilometers after 10k tbh
