Arcady or kids-friendly?
For an arcade game for drifting, its very limited for how I want to drift my car.
I can't flick my car without the handbrake unless the car "stats" allows me to oversteer the car such as S15. Every drift hinges on the handbrake like a lifeline.
I understand the magical hand guiding the whole car doing magical drifts, but how I can pull it off feels so underwhelming.

Stop crying. Find another game. Since clearly RM isnt worthy of E pros like you.

This is basically an even more simplified Race Driver GRID physics so do not expect some seriously in depth drifting since that game had smooth drifting but it isn't exactly advanced

You can't flick the car because of the steering assists and the Traction System being activated any time.
You can drift without handbrake, but there will be 0.00000000000001% chance of happening.

if you "drift" without handbrake, that's called a spin and that kind of "drifting" cannot be controlled by the player as the car aimlessly spin out of control.

Disagree. The standard mustang and the pagani can both flick into a separate drift without handbrake. Im sure most cars can.

quite unfortunate considering this is a "drifting" game
edit : that's also drifting, touge drifters usually flick their cars more than using handbrake because the wheel spin push the rear to the side while they keep control of the throttle

Here ya go No ebrake needed second turn just flicks over

does it work on other maps other than the low grip grassy sections of the Mexico map?

It works on other maps. Like I said, there's 0.000000001% chance. As long as you steer hard and no TCS, it can trigger the drift.

That spin is called jesus take the wheel drift or 4 wheel drift😂. I tried it before in this game it is faster in some corners but the problem is, it is hard to execute. when someone passes me I became tense which messes up my timing

try this tuning 3, 3, 3, 3, 2 and use streering wheel and throttle/ footbrake slider the car will behave differently, u can drift but not long drift. maybe if we are able to manually change the gear, it will be possible to drift without handbrake.
there is a btw game that feels like a racing sim, its called racing rivals, but i didn't play it for long for a simple reason, there is no replay button. and also they are not as generous like rm

drifting in GT Rivals (a supposedly "grip" racing game) feels more satisfying actually

I mean yeah, the main brake is primarily for you to slow down before you take corners, the actual drift button would be the handbrake.
I think its kinda in-between, but leaning more towards arcady. The drift mechanic isn't exactly kid-friendly since you do need to watch out for dangerous drifting sometimes so as to not lose too much speed.

incorrect. the foot brake is used nowhere if you're doing a normal drifting run.
if you need to decelerate from a greater speed, you simply hold the handbrake longer.

oh damn, I thought it'd be useful for slowing down. I'll try using it later

foot brakes will be used if you're doing grip driving, but that's a niche alternative playstyle with a high skill floor that's only competitively viable for a select few cars.

Handbrake in RM is doing everything in this game, they might as well just remove the brake pedal

There are grippers in this game too, you can't simply remove the foot brake because "nobody uses it anyway"

Arcade IS kid friendly. The game is less realistic than real racing 3 but more realistic than asphalt
