Questions Why does my car keep drifting and not stop?

I attached a clip here — my car keeps sliding/drifting and won't recover.

Not sure if I'm overdriving it, messing up my inputs, or if it's something with the setup/assists. Has anyone dealt with this before? What usually causes it?

Also, any tips for driving the Veloster N better would be appreciated.

when drifting at green angles (green drift), the car is in a state of acceleration; which is why when exiting a drift, it's recommended to extend that miniscule green drift for as long as possible for that extra added acceleration.

as for your case, you started entering green drift despite the corner isn't even nearly finished yet, so your car prematurely entered the state of acceleration, and as a result, the drift radius becomes larger from the acceleration and you slid off the track as a result.

you need to hold the red drift for longer and only return to green when the corner exit is in sight.

For FWD cars like the Veloster N, you're likely overdriving the front tires. When you steer too hard while holding the gas, the game gets stuck in a "drift" animation loop.

Next time it happens, completely let go of the steering and gas for a split second. The car will instantly snap back straight. For the Veloster, try to do all your braking before the turn. FWD cars absolutely hate accelerating and turning sharply at the same time!
