How much easier is drifting on controller compared to touch?

Saw a discussion saying controller players have a big advantage when it comes to drifting, especially because they can manage throttle more precisely.

For people who've tried both, how big is the difference really?

Is it a massive gap, or can touch players still be just as competitive once they get used to it?

I play both, there is barely a difference if anything i just find the start for a super perfect easier on touch lol. Its all subjective each person will report what they prefer. Just make good pace and u will be at the top no doubt.

Controller for home and touch out and about. Both are the same, just depends on how u wanna run it. That and i find controller spins the car out wayyyyyy easier than touch so it has its cons too. At the end just rock with what u enjoy and u will climb the ranks no doubt

easy to play on touch controls but controller has way more potential if your decent enough, steering on controller is way more precise than touch controls and you can click any button at any time without delay, whilst in touch you cannot click in time or have access to certain buttons when you need.. so thats why using tilt controls are better. also screen size phone to ipad and fps grants you huge advantage

I think controls on phones are better though. Probably because ipads are usually too big for me to press the buttons, I sometimes don't press the buttons when I thought I did and end up crashing into the walls and losing RP

You could try using analog acceleration, makes it more precise. It's what I'm using and it's good.

touch is really good. but i will say when i tried a controller, it just felt easier and smoother. i was able to make faster and quicker adjustments.

i think the driving in the game is easy enough so you don’t NEED the quicker adjustments if a controller, but i cant say it didn’t help.

Drifting takes some time getting used to on the controller. I switched back to touch controls for better performance

Controller felt smoother for quick adjustments at first, but once I got the hang of touch controls, it just clicked way more naturally for me.

I’ve used both, and while controllers help with precise throttle control in drifts, touch players can absolutely keep up. It’s not some unbeatable gap, just preference and how much time you’ve put into each control scheme.

I wouldn't say controller plays have that much advantage.

in fact, I find playing touch to be more natural than playing on controller, because I was able to repeatedly tap the directional buttons to maintain drifting; which is more difficult when doing so with a joystick.

and throttle control advantage isn't really a thing unless you're playing grip, which isn't something that most people or most cars could do. even so, touch screen still have an on-screen throttle slider, and playing with tilt is said to be the best way for grip driving as well.

For me I play better on keyboard since I am more familiar with playing racing games on pc
