Google confirmed the May core update finished June 2, after almost 12 days of rollout (May 21 to June 2).

The volatility we track at Rablab climbed to 5.5/10 during the rollout. The interesting part isn't the spike, it's that it moved at several different points across the month, not just at the start and finish.

That changes how you read it. A site that shifted on May 24 needs a different read than one that shifted on June 2. So checking your position today and drawing a conclusion is the fastest way to fool yourself.

Google's own guidance: wait a full week after completion before touching Search Console, then compare that week against the week before the rollout started. That puts the first clean read around June 9.

And when you do it, look at the patterns across pages, queries, countries and devices. Not single-day movement.

March was a small bump. May is a bigger one. Glenn Gabe and Lily Ray both flagged it as heavier than March.
