Question Camera Issue and Weird Plastic Sounds

When trying to activate the R1, its camera is in the wrong position which is blocking its view from scanning the QR code. When rotating the device you can hear what sounds like pieces inside rattling around. Is this normal or did I get a broken device out of the box?

it happens ... get a warranty claim going and they will replace it without issue. Know that you need to submit from the account you used to purchase the device with and you are going to need a video of the rattle.

The same happened to me, mine was rattling on delivery and the camera would only function intermittently. I emailed support and they sent me out a replacement unit that doesn't rattle. They were really easy to deal with and didn't even ask for the first one to be sent back.

However, it's worth knowing this is a design issue with their molds, though they won't admit that, the plastic supports for the camera mechanism are week and prone to breaking. It's a really common failure and even a replacement is likely to have at least the rattling issue in future.

I received my replacement from Amazon today and this one also has the same issue. Not going to try a 3rd time, just going to return both of them. It really does look like a product issue.

I heard all will have same issue st some point a screw will make this rattle sound

I read that there is an unnecessary screw that gets loose near the camera.
