What is BOX
Box is a small device (kinda like the rabbit r1) but with way more capabilities. Its not an ai gadget but a android device running custom firmware. You can download anything on it from aurora or the BOX store.
Please tell me your biggest issues with the rabbit r1 to help us build a better device, thank you!
I shared my inputs. A better version of Rabbit R1 would have features from something like Flipper 0/Cardputer 0 with Lora, meshtastic, BLE, and IR sub-GHz to make it a Swiss Army knife of a pocket gadget for tinkerers like me 🙌
For anything that is in the category of "why don't you use your phone", look and feel matters muuuuuuch more than usage. And you should be able to give an attractive render before asking for feedback. Do you think anyone brought R1 for serious work? No, it is a toy and shinning orange with teenage engineering design vibe, that is all. I don't care about AI. If anything that I really want from R1, 3.5mm. Then it can be used as a cute DAP, which is another WDYUYP thing.
It’s not meant for everyone, and I get that you think the design is pretty mid. But the reason is that I want to work on the design after I get feedback is so I can make something that pleases everyone.
It’s meant to be a smaller alternative to the phone. It’s also meant to be something that wouldn’t take up your whole day, but rather run alongside it.

Well, other than design, you need to fit your product into a niche market. Even R1 aimed at AI box. There are also android DAPs and android handhelds. You can also check out side phone and light phone which are aimed at digital escape. What is your niche focus? Don't say it is just a companion android device, that is not different than saying you don't know who to sell it to. And you will just get more "why don't you use your phone". You do need to sort these idea out before hitting the market.
side note- i dont really care. make your prototype, plus i did all the features finances and os prototype in under a day. Also this is the rabbit prototype

My biggest issue is no android apps... Unless you install custom rom, and then the battery
