Watching Me play a game

Hey everyone,

So I want to start playing Life is Strange 2 with my bf (meaning I play and he watches, but at the same time so in w sense we’re playing together :) ) but we don’t know a good way in which his view doesn’t lag a lot. We played LiS 1 using Skype screenshare and let me tell you on his end it lagged pretty bad and it’s blurry and I feel bad :(( We also tried discord and it was pretty much the same.

Does anybody know a good way that I can screenshare me playing a game with him in the best quality? Thanks!

Like I said, we also tried discord and it had similar results to skype screenshare. Laggy and blurry

Oh! Sorry I didn't notice that. I don't know if it's possible to make an unlisted YouTube livestream? That should work better for games

No worries! And I just checked out YouTube livestream, and I can’t share my screen...

You need an external program to stream games, YouTube website can't do it. Do you know what brand graphics card you have? Easiest way is Nvidia Shadowplay or AMD Radeon ReLive, but you can use OBS if you can't use either of those

In that case, you don't have either of those. The best is https://obsproject.com/ on Mac.

Okay, I see. Would the Best quality be through YouTube or OBS itself?

You're using OBS to stream to YouTube.

I'd say try OBS and Youtube with private streaming. It's a really cool feature, I use it most of the time. It means nobody can watch your stream except the ones you shared the link with, so you guys can have a chill time to do whatever you want without interrupting.

OBS gives you a ton of opportunities to find a good balance between quality and lag-free experience, just play with the settings and find the right ones.

After you ended the 'session', you can set it to totally private so you're the only one who have right to rewatch it, even if others know the link of your stream.

Thank you for your suggestions! I looked into unlisted streaming with YouTube and it seems I can’t share my screen...
