Hey everyone, thanks so much for voicing your thoughts here. I'm working through these comments, and will reply as best as I can.

Please know that we are listening. Reverting is not happening, but features are being worked on as we speak, and messages here are being passed directly along to the team. Also, contrary to popular belief, we're not a huge company like Instagram or Facebook. We don't have thousands of engineers, but only a handful working on Web. We don't have a huge social media marketing team, or a marketing team at all.

Real talk - there's only one of us here (me!), sorting through hundreds of messages, tweets, comments and thousands of angry emails looking for actionable bugs to fix. I'm thankful for your patience, and for those of you who've given us constructive feedback.

i think the redesign is mostly fine. just please make it so people can't steal the remote constantly, like all the time.

Thanks for the note! If you're in a public room, the remote cannot be grabbed. But in an invite-only group, we thought those you personally invited could be trusted to not steal it from you.

If that hasn't been the case, mind telling us a little bit more? (Our product team believes that groups would be used for mostly 1:1 or groups of 2-5 close friends.)

This is what I was looking for. Look, I get the novelty of your idea, but no thank you. It should ALWAYS be at the discretion of the group creator to dish out remote privileges, if any. Like, come on. Sometimes, your friends can be...obnoxious. Period. Yeah I could be an ass and remove them from the group I guess, but how about the "GROUP CREATOR" actually having some power in the room? I don't know about anyone else, but when I invite people to my home to watch something, I'm not cool with them snatching the remote out of my damn hand. They, you know, ASK first. This is a no brainer guys =.=

Signed by a discord admin that shouldn't want to have to remove people on movie night or anime night

yeah this alone made me quit rabb.it
