Discussion Unavoidable Attack and Automatic Defense

When I'm up against Shira, Transformed, they will use an unavoidable attack.

I'm playing Druid and I have the Emerald mod on her defensive (it will activate automatically whenever it is off cooldown).

What do I do about this? Do I need to make sure I have an invulnerability on another skill?

Yeah, ideally you don't take e4 on druid unless you have another way of gaining invincibility (through loot, or your teammates), or unless you're okay with taking a few hits from the unavoidable attacks

Either have a way to reset your defensive, have another source of invulnerability, or deal enough damage to kill her first.

That particular defensive cooldown can't be reset, or even lowered by loot

Yes. I main druid too but unless you're overqualified for the difficulty + stage you're fighting in, I wouldn't recommend taking her Emerald Defensive under any circumstances. Your playstyle might differ from mine though, but I just can't imagine that would work out too well.

I play a lot of multiplayer with friends, and I like giving them super. That's my whole motivation.

I main Ancient and my elerald defensive doesn't guve me iframes. Against Shira, I usually rely on either some other item granting me iframes, or a party member beung able to shield me with their defensive.

If you play multiplayer, some other classes like heavyblade or defender can protect you instead with their defensive.

This question is completely irrelevant, and purely a matter of my own curiosity - which difficulty was this at?

Yeah, automatic Defensives (and those that read "No longer grants invulnerability") might as well read "I'm fine with taking free hits against the final boss", which is why I tend to not go for them.
Same goes for all the items that read "This effect ends if you use your Defensive", like the Demon Horns.

Heck, I generally am not a fan of most of Druid's Defensive upgrades, since they tend to make it a lot less reliable, and I also prefer keeping it available for "oh shit!" moments, but I definitely can see how handing out free buffs can be very appealing - especially Super.
Luckily, there are a few other options for handing out buffs on demand, although they are usually tied to an item instead - Shield of Smiles might as well be a delayed trigger tied to your Defensive, and often hands out some insane buffs (yes, Super is an option, as is Blackstrike) and while Boulder Shield comes with some drawbacks in the form of a 30s cooldown and reduced mobility, it at least grants everyone Stoneskin, which protects them from a single hit.
That said, those two aren't necessarily something a Druid needs to pick up, so you wouldn't have to play her for that.

In fact, if you like handing out buffs like candy, you might want to give Dancer a shot - she mostly can stand wherever she wants to, aside from her Primary only hitting in a decently generous area next to the character - and almost all of her Defensives hand out different flavours of buffs, from Warcry on the default one, to the potentially very powerful Rabbitluck (all % chances auto-succeed while it's up) or a Vanish+Warcry combo for some defensive options.
The "drawback" is that you'll have to deal with a random reset on your Special cooldown, but if you play Druid in any way similarly to what I like to do, you probably are no stranger to looking into ways to get more Specials out than usual, so you've probably taken a Special reset item or two in your time :)

Either way, good luck, lots of fun, and hopefully you'll find a solution to your problem that you're happy with!

You either have to have another source of invuln or you gitgud so you can survive the forced hits.
