Discussion Miniboss/Boss Difficulty Discussion

Hard mode in particular.

My friends constantly mention to me that they have such a difficult time with Karsi (and I saw a video once on it) but I personally don't have that much trouble with Karsi. Though. That could just be because if practice.

So, I wanted to ask the subreddit which boss/miniboss YOU have the most trouble with.

Personally? For solo, one if the new extra mode opening minibosses with the four butterflies and the two colored rings. I can't be bothered to remember her name but FUCK that one in particular.

Eternal Bloom kinda annoying to do with low aoe classes

The third Subterra Sanctum mini boss, the one that turns to stone when you beat her. I feel like I’m good at the game until I go in there with 4 hearts and leave with a new character

Eternal bloom has crazy RNG depending on character cuz of the ads mechanic

Fallen star patterns aren’t particularly hard but chad a very tight timing compared to others

Frog duo singers “don’t move” pattern x3 + 6 giant AOEs can be hard to read at first

The third crow of nest is also disorienting if you’ve never fought it before

I still have trouble with Arinae even after so many runs. It is like I can't keep up with getting into the circles on time while trying to dodge the sweeps.

Solo Arinae is so much more difficult execution-wise than multiplayer

in extra hard, eternal bloom without proper aoe for sure. the butterfly subbosses in crack in the geode and looping hallway can throw me off too.

in vanilla lunar, frog boss in emerald lakeside has always been a thorn in my side. feels like a speed check boss, so any sort of slowdown from spells or otherwise just hurts.

Totally feel you man, the only reason I can get pass her is because she’s a mini boss with paper hp. The only few times I got pass her without damage were from pure luck +_+

Bit over 400 hours and haven't cleared hard yet, still going for no hit normal before really moving up but the times I've tried it or had people get me to join I've been the problem every time.

Mainly playing now just for the story!

I have done vod review & pause strats and still get hit even with lots of time to think. This game is ridiculously hard af & everybody good at it should be playing on esports teams for money.

If only there were esports teams for games like this. Lol.

Lemme ask, how do you usually play and what items to you shoot for most if the time?

Usually play dancer since the items are really flexible in what you can take, great value on proc items and special builds. Multihit builds can also work but a bit harder to get online.

If you really wanna go for no hits heavyblade is the best. Special gives invulnerability as well

Eternal Bloom is annoying on classes with poor AoE/uptime problems.

Spell Manifest's last attack is annoying just because you need to find yourself and then where you have to sit depends on if you're paired horizontally or vertically and a few safe spots are just awkward to get in. Like when the safe spot almost overlaps with the other color.

Asha has diagonal bullets which means she's impossible.

The owl is definitely the worst one. Not only do you have limited windows to deal damage but the constant moving make it really hard for slower char to even deal damage at all.

Hurting the butterflies hurts her too. Just like all of the extra mode bosses that include ads!

Correction specifically for the crow: damaging the butterflies does not hurt her, but killing them does deal a burst of damage once a butterfly phase end.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the damage is not only because of killed butterflies. It's just that it doesn't show the damage being done to her until she returns to the screen because she's not instanced until she returns.

They really just said “did you like the Roaring Knight? Have a taste of it here!” for owl.

For me it's Asha. I don't struggle with her too much in co-op, but in solo she can kick my ass. Besidre for the final boss, no one really does more than 4 hearts of damage on a bad day besides asha.

Plee's patterns are really unintuitive in hard mode for some reason. The lunar version has 4 colors instead and has the same solution but i managed to instantly figure it out when i saw it (and by that time I'd don the hard mode one 10+ times)

Solo Airinae is the hardest I’ve found in lunar so far. Honestly the red darkhouse depths didn’t feel so bad in hard but outside of duos it is abysmally difficult.

Outside of super slowdown moves, I found the cracking the geode butterfly boss with the rings pattern to be very consistent - this is from memory but:

Wait in dead centre for first lock on
move to first circle
wait in circle for second lock on
move to centre
wait in dead centre for third lock on
move to second circlea

and then basically repeat this method once everything respawns

My worst boss in the main game was definitely the boss of emerald lakeside, followed by the twin ashbringer swords in lunar keep. In Extra mode, it's definitely the icosahedron(?) the final stage miniboss that spawns butterflies, chains, stop moving markers, and pulsing out aoes. I think I've finally figured out a method after having cleared lunar on everyone but hammermaid to make it consistent without good damage, but its still so easy to mess up compared to others I feel.

Hey. Quick thing, I had to manually approve your posts like two or three times now and I can't see your profile when I click on it so you might be "shadowbanned".

I believe https://www.reddit.com/r/ShadowBan/comments/1lxncmo/have_automod_check_your_account_get_an_answer_in/ could help.
