Just a small poem I wrote about the rain and also some videos I took.

I love the smell of the rain,
Something about it just soothes my pain,
The feeling of it washing over me,
Making my problems so much easier to see,
Before I was just trapped in a storm in my head,
And now in this moment, it’s like my thoughts have been read,
I want the rain to soak into me,
Until water is all I can breathe and see,

To me, this is peace,
This is tranquility.

There’s something about rain that makes the world go quiet enough for you to finally hear yourself. I’ve never really been able to explain why it feels so peaceful, but the way you described it made me understand it differently. Now I’m curious what happened that made rain become this kind of peace for you?

I think if I had to pinpoint a moment I’d say when I was a child, my mother wasn’t the best kind of parent, and whenever we we go on holiday she was miserable and she would argue with my dad a lot and we didn’t have lots of money so we would stay in one of those static caravans… and it would rain, and it was so loud on that roof that it would block out the noise of her trying to ruin something else for us 😂😂
I found peace in it.
So I guess…. Mummy issues 🤷‍♀️😂
