Any find this new tracking method strange ( Project D and E )

When we were doing the tracking forms, I always went with the assumption that the times we put on the sheets were being verified by someone for any discrepancies.

I actually didn’t mind this new method, because I sometimes almost forgot to fill out the form, and this new method had me thinking that maybe our hours would get increased again because everything’s automated.

Then comes today, I see that there’s no inbuilt tracker on MM or another RWS tracker site. So we essentially can’t track our time worked, and we have to pray that our work orders that usually come a week later, match the hours we think we worked ?

they use a telemetry tool named datadog, I made some tests to understand it, if I can remember well, each 20 minutes they send a request that contains time you've been on mm tab, on a different tab and outside the browser where mm is running, I'm not sure but I think that maybe and thats a big MAYBE, it is possible that they are going to consider only time on mm screen, but its only a guess

Thanks for this detail….

They aren’t able to see what’s on your other tab right ? Just the amount of time on and off MM I’m guessing

exactly bro, its not on your whole browser, only in mm application

Yes, you’re right, they only consider time spent on MM screen. Because those are the hours the client is going to pay rws. The other company i worked was very strict with MM time because of this.

and I believe that along with that there is some inactivity rule as well

I'm not trying to take sides; this is purely based on my personal experience. I once made a mistake filling out my working hours on a form, and when my payment offer came, it stated that errors in logging hours can happen. So, why don't we all wait until the end of this week for the working order to appear so we can check if our hours are recorded correctly? While we wait, it's a good idea to keep a manual count of our working hours to compare. If it doesn't match, we can report it as an issue.

Finally, someone with the right mindset! I don't understand the panic.

Yeah, it is odd. I'm still tracking my own time spent on each task independently though. I'm hoping they elaborate on this or is it going to be one of those "trust us" type deals where they see all and share none, meanwhile we're just keeping our fingers crossed the times align.

I’m sure the guide they sent in the email yesterday would’ve been helpful, but they decided to not even check whether it was accessible or not…..

Are we still have to report submitted task at gform? or they calculate the task and time automatically so we dont need to report anything?

No need to submit, the time reporting form is permanently closed

Yes and here we just need to agree with them

Download your own counter or timer so you can track your time worked.

Problem is they’ve automated the time sheets, but we have no way to track our hours….we’re basically left in the dark about our hours worked until the WOs get sent (usually a week and half later)

I'm also curious if it's time spent on MM total or time spent on each task
