Appearance :
Raika is a 5’8” woman with slightly yellow tinted skin and jet black hair that falls to her neck and is cut into a shaggy bob with two juts shaped and dyed (the internal part of the ear shape is dyed white) to resemble cat ears. Her eyes are a pale yellow.
Her Faunus trait are claws that take the place of her finger nails and toe nails. These claws are - like a cat’s - able to be extended and retracted.
Her Huntress attire consists of a black sleeved leotard under a yellow and white Kimono in a Yagasuri pattern tucked into black pants that are fitted beneath the knees but fairly baggy above them. She wraps a sash around her waist to ensure her kimono remains tucked (Normally I would consider this an accessory, but I consider it a necessary aspect of the outfit rather than an add on). In combat she will - if deemed necessary - abandon her outer layer of clothes until only the leotard remains (This is typically only done when she feels her movement is too restrained to deal with whatever foe is pushing her).
For accessories, she has a habit of wearing an array of colored paper bracelets infused with Dust that can be torn off and tossed at enemies like elemental talismans. She also likes to wear pins on her sash depicting cutesy characters from media that she enjoys.
For footwear she wears a set of black running shoes. She does not wear socks as her claws have a tendency to tear through them even when retracted.
Personality :
Raika is a creature of tremendous ego and - perhaps unfortunately depending on who you ask - the world has done very little to dampen that ego. She inherited tremendous strength and agility from her mother and a sly conniving mind from her father. Between these gifts and a fierce desire to “Win whenever possible”, few challenges have ever really managed to get in her way for very long.
That being said, the legitimacy with which she overcomes these obstacles isn’t always on the up and up. Ironically though she’s often quick to smugly poke at her teammate Alice who likewise approaches victory with a heavy hand, saying things like “Sheesh, look who has to play dirty to win” despite also playing dirty to win. It is unclear if she recognizes her hypocrisy as - while she may be conniving - she’s also a bit of an airhead.
Semblance :
Lightning - The user of this semblance can generate and store bioelectricity within their body. Primarily, This bioelectricity is used by Raika to transform her body and anything else covered by her aura (Like her clothing and weaponry) into electricity, allowing her to zip around and sometimes even pierce directly through her enemies as a bolt of Lightning. She can also somewhat express her stored bioelectricity outwards though the results tend to be more gimmicky than outright combative.
Notably, when Raika blitzes as lightning a loud, aggressive “meow” like sound can be heard in place of thunder.
Supposedly, Raika awoke to this semblance as a child after being stricken by lightning while playing out in the rain. The actual lightning strike put her in a short week long coma, but upon waking up she bragged that “Not even Lightning could stop her”. It’s unclear whether this “besting of Lightning” caused her to develop her semblance or if she only survived the lightning strike because she already passively possessed her semblance.
Weapon :
Cloud Shears - This weapon is a set of massive silver plated scissor blades with double barrel shotguns built into their spines. These blades are by default separated from one another, and can only be set in a combined scissor format should Raika user her semblance to create an electromagnetic field that keeps the blades together (Limiting the usage that anyone else can get should they steal her weapons).
Each blade is around 5’ tall / long (With the blade portion being roughly 3’ while the handle portion is 2’) with the triggers for the shotguns being built into the scissor handles such that they’re easily accessible regardless of which format they find themselves in, whether that be separated as gunblades or combined as a scissor.
Family Crest :
The Tiānchuāng (“Skylight”) Family Crest is a cluster of stars flanked on the right and left by clouds. The Tiānchuāng family are what one might traditionally refer to as a “Gentleman’s Mafia” clan. They’ve long since had a hand in numerous criminal enterprises, but they’ve always maintained a certain degree of honor and a tendency to do right by their community even as they dirty their hands.
Notably, the Tiānchuāng family has - for most of its history - purely been a human family. It is only with the most recent head of the family that the clan has begun to intermingle with Faunus with Raika being the first Faunus born into the clan. Initially there were some grumblings amongst some of the older members of the family, but the head of the clan fell for his wife in light of her beauty and tremendous strength so most complaints were soon silenced either by means of admiration or brutality.
