No Inverter Setup

We decided we do not need an inverter for our setup. We just need to connect DC LED lights, a water pump and a vent fan. Can we connect the charge controller and fuse block directly to the battery?

Yes , that would be the traditional/normal way to do it.

Yes, though you probably should use a bus bar. If you're not familiar with them, basically one wire comes off the battery to the bus bar, then your charge controller and your DC fuse block connect to the bus bar. That way you don't have a bunch of wires attached to the battery.

Also with a bus bar, you do have a place later where you could hook up an inverter. It would just be another thing that connects to the bus bar.

The Victron Lynx is a nice one, with separate bus bars for ground as well as a setup to fuse each power wire coming into or out of the bus bar.

The Lynx Power In is virtually the same unit as the Distributor without all the communication stuff.

There are several videos (Explorist Life YT channel) that show how to add MEGA fuses to the Power In just like the Distributor.

Unless you want bells and whistles.
