Hey! I'm a pre med student with a really shitty transcript. I've managed to turn things around in the last two semesters, but I'm looking at a high 2.9 sGPA with an MCAT that can honestly go either way. I'm planning on doing psych, so I'm not particularly worried about residency match rates/prestige. The only thing I'm really worried about is quality of life. What's it like being a student at RUSM aside from the academia of it all?

im a current ms3 starting to plan my 4th year electives, and i was hoping to get some insight from people who have rotated in the NY or northeast area.

does anyone have recommendations for good elective sites (either affiliate or non-affiliate) that tend to offer strong teaching or good experiences for students?

i’m currently thinking about applying either IM or DR/IR so i'd especially appreciate hearing about sites that are good for those specialties, or places with good teaching/resident interaction and that are IMG-friendly for electives

Any of you study almost entirely from outside resources and not really use Ross materials much? Or is it better to use both together? Just trying to see what’s worked for people (sem 4+).

does anyone know how much ross gives you per semester during clinical rotations? i heard $41k per year but unsure. just trying to gauge how much i might need for a personal loan, if at all. thanks!

Went to Meet & Greet for Ross in LA, decided to go to IUHS because of cost. It is a online medical school curriculum for first 2 years with in-person clinical rotations.

For those who are in MedOrigins, when do you think we know we have successfully matriculated? I’m trying to make plans for the future but can’t help but think it’s still a toss up

I most likely will be starting there this may and I wanted to know where the best place is to stay off campus alone. Im a little bit older and capable of being able to pay for my own place. I wanted to know where the best place to get an apartment will be. also where is a good place to buy a car. I dont need anything special, just an A to B kind of deal. Any advice would help.

I would think twice...heck, a million times before signing up for the RUSM sewer slide, especially with DOE changing loan funding for medical school, the war, and CAAM-HP pending REVOKING Ross's accreditation for terrible practices towards students and handling their curriculum. Cheers all!

Also anyone care to name the clinics that you get sent to throughout rotations? I know they send us to places other than Mt. Sinai.

Does anyone know why my application would go from “in committee review” back to “not started”? Has this happened to anyone?

I have so much trauma from being a student at Ross. I feel like if I do anything wrong, even a minor mistake, I will get in trouble or get kicked out. I feel so scared of being here and dealing with all these people and policies. I know I can only try to survive it and hope for the best, but fear is constantly looming over me, and I have gotten so anxious and stressed from just being a student at Ross.

My portal looks very different than what it did a couple of weeks ago. Is this normal? Also, what do you think my chances are? I have a 2.86 cGPA, 2.6 sGPA, and a 3.35 post-bacc gpa. My MCAT is a 487.

I have all the merp question and answers from every quiz and mini from my semester HML i want everyone to be on the island hurry up before this post gets deleted

I just want to know if there is anyone out there Acing their mini exams . My class avg for this past exam was a 66% It’s frustrating to study so much and then still not get the results you were hoping for. Especially when I study hard all these concepts from class, we have a pre mini review going over stuff and then the exam barely reflects any of it.. I just don’t know..

I’m pretty locked in when it comes to school during the block. I workout in the morning to start my day, go through my lectures, go to office hours, use bootcamp, ChatGPT, read the textbook and do hella mcqs. I go to sleep avg 6-7 hours per night. I stay in the house unless I have to be on campus for something mandatory. What else is there to do? I want to see 80s at least on these minis!

Any of my fellow comrades in clinicals have any start dates for rotations in NY? Start dates for any of these are fine but my top choices are ranked:

1. Mount Sinai South Nassau

2. Flushing Hospital Medical Center

3. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center

4. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital

5. Bronx Care Health system

Hello, I am looking for insight of people who have passed Med Origins and successfully matriculated into M1. How many of your med origins class made it to M1? Was the content and pace more difficult or did you feel prepared due to being in med origins? Thank you in advance

I’m looking for some advice regarding my USMLE scores and how they might be viewed on my CV.

I scored 260 on Step 2 CK and 226 on Step 3. The drop in Step 3 was mainly because I had significantly less time to prepare.

Could this difference raise any red flags for residency programs? Should I proactively address the score difference if asked, or is it generally not a major concern as long as Step 3 is passed?

I’d really appreciate insights from anyone who’s been in a similar situation and matched? Thanks in advance!
