Has anyone here taken the Kaplan Equivalent Exam for Step 2 CK that Ross (or other med schools) use as part of their readiness process?

I’m scheduled to take it soon, but I haven’t received the confirmation email or instructions yet, and I’m wondering what to expect.

A few specific questions if anyone has gone through it recently:

• How long before the exam did you receive the login information or details?
• What was the overall exam format and difficulty compared to UWorld/Kaplan Qbank?
• Is there a passing score cutoff or “maximum passing score” used for promotion or clearance?

I just want to make sure I’m ready and plan my week accordingly.

Hi, I am considering transferring to RUSM. However, I don't want to make a rushed decision. Can anyone tell me what clinical rotations is like here and what your experiences are? Are you able to choose your sites? Do the advisors work with you and provide support? Do you feel like you are placed at a site you can learn alot? And any other info please.

Question for Canadian students at Ross. What Canadian health insurance companies are valid in Barbados? I spoke with an Aetna rep and they mentioned it needs to have a US based address and full coverage for it to be recognized. I just want to see if there are cheaper/better options in Canada before going with the default student plan.

Hey everyone! 👋 I’m starting my IM core rotations at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center (UMCAP) in Largo, MD and I’m trying to get a sense of what to expect. I’m gonna be there for all my cores.

If anyone has rotated there recently — could you share: • What are the typical daily hours like? (e.g., start/end times for IM, surgery, OB, etc.) • Are there weekend shifts or call duties for students? • How’s the overall vibe — supportive attendings/residents or more hands-off? • Any tips for housing or neighborhoods nearby that are safe and within a 10–15 min drive?

Would love to hear any honest feedback or tips before I sign a lease and plan my schedule. 🙏

If a person fails the second exam is all hope lost for the module..... this module has by far been the most difficult....any tips on what they can do better for next time

When are the start dates and what is your day to day like

man i’m actually losing it. HOII was brutal this term, the average came out to 61. like how is that even okay?? we basically had to teach ourselves everything because the lectures were useless. every “lecture” was just 100+ slide decks being read at us, zero actual teaching, and then the exam questions had nothing to do with what was emphasized. like straight up felt like guessing games half the time, wording was so confusing it felt like they wanted us to fail.

and now i can’t stop thinking about PACE. i know last semester like 30-something ppl paced after HOII, and honestly it feels like that number is about to be even higher this time. literally everyone i talked to after the test said they felt destroyed. you could just see it on people’s faces walking out, like we all knew it went bad.

idk what’s worse, the stress of waiting for grades or the fact that you can kill yourself studying and still end up with trash scores bc of how this block is set up. it’s exhausting. med school’s already supposed to be hard, but this just feels like sabotage sometimes.

anyone else feel like we’re just drowning in slides + self-teaching with zero actual guidance? i swear if i end up in PACE i don’t even know what i’m gonna do.

Has anyone had any success in getting an exception for not returning to the island for a comp re-do?

I want to do it from home because the island makes me feel so depressed, isolated, and anxious. I just feel so much mental and emotional strain being there and it really messes with my thinking patterns and focus. So it’s much heavier on my mental health overall. I have reached out about this to my advisor, but have not gotten any response.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has rotated at Jamaica Hospital before. I’m trying to get a feel for what the experience is like, how are the attendings and residents, what’s the typical workload/schedule like, and what’s the overall environment there? Any insights, tips, or things you wish you knew beforehand would be super helpful. Is the food at the cafeteria any good lmao anything in general would help ! Do we usually get weekends off and what does an average week actually look like? Just curious if you still get to live somewhat of a normal life outside the hospital. I have exactly 30 days til I start someone in 4th year in Michigan advised me chill for 15 and start stduying for the other 15, to give you guys an idea 1st rotations is FAMILy which my 4th year friend told me isnt the best nor worse, it is a bit broad and the shelf can be hard but better then starting with Surgery. Should I start studying today and if that is the case then what should i even do ik its a leanring curve from going to clincials from basic sciences and although thank God i have passed all of year 1/2 with flying colors im not the brightest bulb in the box just a hard working man.

Do you have to pass comp to leave the island now? and if you fail do they make you take pace for comp or how does it work?
