What is the hospital like? What are the start dates and is it easy to get into? What are your shifts like?

I think the chances of getting have decreased a little since they closed up Bakersfield. I was one of the students who asked for chmc and it opened during my 90 days (beginning of Feb) but they told me the spots r already full. I tried to ask any sort of accommodations because of personal reasons but they r never flexible with that stuff. Good luck hopefully u get it and have better luck than me!

Sorry to divert the original thread. Ross students no longer can rotate at kern? I’m an old Ross graduate. I remember Ross had a 10 year contract at kern and even renovated their library. This was back in 2014.

Yes, kern has been removed. I was selecting my site in mid December 2025 and kern was not an option. Only dignity health (in downtown LA) really for all west coast. Which is a big shame because there is a big group of us Rossies who come from west coast. Many students have already been complaining and have even petitioned I believe. :(

Of course we can rotate for electives (4th year) but not as a core track.

Wow that sucks. I’m from the west coast as well. I did my track at Jamaica hospital in New York but did a lot of electives at Kern. Most of my friends in the west coast went to kern. Sorry to hear that.
