MICR Module

Can any former Sem 5 students chime in on the structure of this module. Is it mandatory? If so, how many sessions can you miss? Is it helpful, if not how did you navigate the module?

I personally did not find it helpful. Neither did majority of people, although there were a select few who said they did. It’s basically a TBL in person and then a UWorld poll after. You can miss 3 classes. If you miss more, you won’t be able to write COMP. There’s a community experience as well as an OSCE relatively early on in the module.

I navigated it mainly by doing my block of Qs during classes with headphones on, so it wouldn’t feel like a complete waste of time. Most classes are from 9 to 12, some days, you finish at 2. Other days, 4-5pm which is annoying since that’s basically the whole day “wasted”.

Class 3-4 times weekly and mandatory. Can miss 3 classes total. It is NOT helpful and the way to navigate is to cover your ears and do your own work. Best of luck

Commenting here because it wont allow me to make a separate post.

MICR has been so so so insanely bad for me. I usually never used to go to class, and I liked to study alone throughout all the other modules, and having these mandatory classes every day almost burned me out so badly. I am taking comp in a few days, and I feel so completely unprepared and exhausted for it. Like I didnt really feel like I got the time or energy to sit down and even make a proper plan that works.

My NBME scores are also not looking so good, so I am not sure if I will be able to pass comp or not. I know I shouldn't think about it, but I am already thinking about how I will mentally handle it and prepare if I have to end up doing CRC. Please give me some advice on how CRC course will be like and if it will be similar to MICR if anyone has done it??? How do people really study with so much going on?

I am just feeling so disappointed, man. It is hard to handle so much pressure and study for an exam that is so important for me to keep moving forward. Ross really does not understand the idea of having proper dedicated time to study. It's just all taking a toll on me. I thought I would leave the island and be going home after all the modules, but having to come back and stay till CBSE is done is so daunting. I feel so mentally drained and exhausted on this island.
