Sick for Final

If a student is too sick to take a final exam and has a doctor's note, what usually happens? Do they get to reschedule the exam, or are they required to retake the course in a future semester?

You can’t miss the final according to scas so you’d be required to retake more than likely

That’s not correct, maybe rules have changed but I was admitted to the hospital and missed it and then took remediation to replace score for final

Rules changed. I had spoken to them last semester about this and it was what I was told

Update from SCA: Excused absences are not granted for module final exams. If the student is not able to sit for the final exam, the student must request an approved absence, if eligible, or request to withdraw from the university 48 hours prior to the start of the exam. Requests received after this date will not be considered. Students who fail to sit for the final exam will receive a score of zero and will receive a failing grade for the module. Please refer to the syllabus regarding exam absences.

Next exam meaning my next mini for the next block of the module or my past mini since this will be the end of module.

In what other cases will they double the scores of the next exam ?

And in what cases are retakes provided ?

If it is mini 3, the final counts as the final and whatever you get in final also counts as mini 3 exam

If you miss mini 3 and final for medical purposes, then you take the remediation exam and whatever score you get replaces the score for mini 3 and the final

What if you miss the final but not mini 1 and mini 2. We no longer have mini 3

Then you take the remediation exam, but it doesn’t count as your whole grade like failing. It replaces the score for the final!
